Golay   filters  will  be  compared  in  this  study  to  minim ize   artifacts  in  the   baseline  signal.   Three  secondary  datasets  are  utilized  to  evaluate  these  approach es'   capacity  to  remove  artifacts.  These  three  strategies  are   also  tested  with  the  conv olution  neural  network  classifi cation  algorit hms.  When  applied  to  the  dataset  for  emotion   analysis   using  physio logical  signals   ( DEAP )   and   a  datas et  for  multimodal  resear ch  of  affec t,  personality  traits ,   and  mood  on  indi viduals  and  groups  ( AMIGOS )   datasets,   the  m ean   filter  can   increase  b aseline  reduction  performance  based  on  twenty - four  test  scenarios.  On  th e  data   readiness  for  machine  learning  research  ( DREAMER )   dataset,  howev er,  the  Gaussian  filter  is  preferable.  The  relative  difference  approach  was  employed   in  this  study' s  baseline  reduction  process  to  generate  EEG  signal  p atterns  that  are  easy  to  recognize  throughout  the   classification  phase,  which  i mpacts  increasin g accur acy.     K e y w o r d s :   B a s e li ne  r e duc ti on   E le c tr oe nc e pha lo gr a m  s ig na l   E m ot io n r e c ogni ti on   S m oot hi ng a ppr oa c h   This is an  open  acce ss artic le unde r the  CC BY -
