In recent, the high available internet service is main demand of the most people. However, online services occasionally become inaccessible due to various threats and attacks. Synchronization (SYN) flood Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) is the most used and has a serious effect on the public network services. Hence, the outcome of this attack on the commonly utilized cluster-based web servers is systematically illustrated in this paper. Moreover, performance of Internet Information Service 10.0 (IIS 10.0) on Windows server 2016 and Apache 2 on Linux Ubuntu 16.04 server is evaluated efficiently. The performance measuring process is done on both Network Load Balancing (NLB) and High Available Proxy (HAProxy) in Windows and Linux environments respectively as methods for web server load balancing.  Furthermore, stability, efficiency and responsiveness of the web servers are depended as the study evaluation metrics. Additionally, average CPU usage and throughput of the both mechanisms are measured in the proposed system. The results show that the IIS 10.0 cluster-based web servers are more responsiveness, efficiency and stable with and without SYN flood DDoS attack. Also, the performance of IIS 10.0 web server is better than of the Apache 2 in term of the average CPU usage and throughput.

Obesity is becoming an epidemic globally as it has been closely linked with a wide variety of chronic diseases. The identification of associated factors for obesity occurrences is still the main interest of many researchers. However, there has been extensive disagreement among researchers over possible factors associated with obesity which commonly involve the demographic factors, socioeconomic status (SES) and environmental factors. Biomarkers are also considered as important possible factors linked with the prevalence of obesity but investigations looking into their associations are still lacking. Therefore, it is important to examine factors that are associated with obesity using biomarkers and common factors to get detailed perspectives on obesity prevalence. The objectives of this study are to determine the prevalence of obesity and to examine the association between the common factors and biomarkers with obesity among community in Selangor, Malaysia. The results showed that the prevalence of obesity among participants was 49% (N=498) and Ordinal regression model with Cauchit built-in link function was the best fitted model to predict obesity. Meanwhile, three types of common factors (i.e. older age, being female and Malay ethnic) and one type of biomarker (i.e. high glucose level) were found to be significantly associated with obesity.

10.11591/ijeecs.v19.i1.pp11-22
Hayder Hussein Kadhum , Ahmed Samawi Alkhafaji , Hayder H.Emawi H. Emawi
The capacitance selection of the three-phase self-excited induction generators (SEIG) driven by wind energy is influences by the iron losses. This paper is dealing with this problem by constructing a steady state model of the generator supplying an induction oil pump. No previous literature studying the requirements of selecting the minimum excitation capacitance under the iron loss impact is found. This work is focusing on: (i) a novel evaluation of the characteristics of the induction generator taking iron loss into account. (ii) the errors caused by neglecting the iron loss. (iii) the importance of including the iron-loss in any accurate analysis. (iv) the errors occurred in the selection of the precise excitation capacitance (Cexct) when the iron-loss neglected. Nodal analysis is suggested to describe the study-state performance of the proposed model. A Matlab/simulation is established to validate the proposed model.

Communication by email is counted as a popular manner through which users can exchange information. The email could be abused by spammers to spread suspicious content to the Internet users. Thus, the need to an effective way to detect spam emails are becoming clear to keep this information safe from malicious access. Many methods have been developed to address such a problem. In this paper, a machine learning technique is applied to detect spam emails. In this technique, a detection system based on sequential minimal optimization (SMO) is built to classify emails into two categories: spam and non-spam (ham). Each email is represented by a set of features extracted from its textual content. A hybrid feature selection is developed to choose a subset of these features based on their importance in process of the detection. This subset is then input into the SMO algorithm to make the detection decision. The use of such a technique provides an efficient protective mechanism to control spams. The experimental results show that the performance of the proposed method is promising compared with the existing methods.

Nor Hapiza Mohd Ariffin , Fauziah Ahmad , Umar Mohd Haneef
Mobile payment is a form of payment transaction processing where the payer utilizes mobile communication methods together with mobile devices to initiate, authorize or complete payment. Hence, with the huge increase in mobile device usage, the retail sector will be able to collect large volumes of data. Unfortunately, most Malaysians still do not make full use of digital payments or cashless payments. Consumers in South East Asia still tend to use money or bank cards, and companies have been "limitedly effective" in encouraging a cashless revolution. The objective of this study was to identify the acceptance of mobile payment by retailers, the factors that contribute to the acceptance of mobile payment and the relationship between the factors were also the aim of this research. Several factors were contributing to mobile payments such as performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, habit, privacy, perceived security and intentions which was based on the UTAUT model. This study used questionnaires to collect data and the data analysis was carried out using SPSS software. Based on the analysis that has been conducted, it can be seen that all the hypotheses of this research have a significant relationship except for the relationship between privacy and intentions that has a negative linear relationship. It is hoped that this research will give values to retailers with an understanding of the contributing factors that affect their acceptance of mobile payment technology in the retailing business.

Improving network performance with an integrated priority queue and weighted fair queue scheduling

10.11591/ijeecs.v19.i1.pp241-247
Tsehay Admassu Assegie , Haymanot Derebe Bizuneh
Quality of service (QoS) is the measure of network service availability and transmission. There are many factors influencing QoS among which one is the increasing number of network service users. The increase in the number of network service users and communication traffic causes network congestion. And the traffic congestion results in delay or packet loss and jitter variation. As a result, an organization’s network quality deteriorates and or even becomes unavailable. Therefore, to deliver a high quality network service to the users, a solution that avoids network traffic congestion is needed. In this study, the causes for network traffic congestion and the best solutions to eliminate traffic congestion in a network with congestion management and avoidance using an integrated priority queue (PQ) and weighted fair queue (WFQ) packet scheduling algorithms is proposed.

Mogaligunta Sankaraiah , S Suresh Reddy , M Vijaya Kumar
The presence of PV systems increases rapidly in distribution systems to improve reliability and quality of supply. This will influence the performance of under load tap changing (ULTC) transformer and related reactive power devices. Therefore, many researchers are working on this area. This paper main objective is to reduce switching operations of reactive power devices (ULTC and Shunt capacitors) together with system power loss.  Distribution system load and solar system power will predict one day in advance and grey wolf optimizer (GWO) algorithm proposed to solve the objective function. Reactive power of solar system is coordinated together with ULTC and shunt capacitors (SCs) with the aid of forecasted load. Distribution system losses and switching operations of ULTC and SCs converted into objective function in terms of cost. The proposed method is applied on practical 10KV system and the results are compared with conventional and particle swarm optimization (PSO) methods considering grid conditions.

Novel multiple access for cooperative networks with nakagami-m fading: system model and performance analysis

10.11591/ijeecs.v19.i1.pp233-240
Tu-Trinh Thi Nguyen , Dinh-Thuan Do
This study considers the performances of a downlink non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) network over Nakagami-m fading channels. This scheme employs two hop transmission. We first examine the analytical outage probability expression for each user and then these results are verified by Monte Carlo simulations. Based upon the outage probability, the maximal throughput are obtained and analyzed under different parameters. Furthermore, the effects of Nakagami-m channel fading on the probability and throughput are investigated. The results indicate that the performance of the NOMA system is excellent as appropriate selection of simulated parameters. This analysis can be recommended for designing the NOMA systems in the future fifth-generation wireless communication.

This research presents student online marketplace for university community. In this study, we identify current issues faced by university students while starting their business. Based on the preliminary investigation, it was found out that there are a number of students doing part-time jobs and doing business to support their living expenses. There are varieties of businesses and services offered among students especially students staying in colleges. However, the main problem faced by students either as the buyer or the seller is there is no business platform to promote their products or services. Al-so, there is a lack of information regarding the business or services since most communications are done through h instant messaging apps such as WhatsApp and social media. By having a student online marketplace, the exchange of goods and services take place by having buyers and sellers being in contact with one another. This student online marketplace also helps small businesses to boost their sales, encourage new business start-up and inspire students who have business idea to help them to kick-start their business. Students are able to perform their business in a safe and secure environment.

To implement electronic exams and material resources sharing (which is usually limited), an operating base is must be available for trading information and correspondence management. In this paper, self-managed computer networks, no server was designed. This network aims to share information and correspondence management between the laboratory`s computers. A specific software called Packet tracer used for designing and simulating the network, also for choosing the right medium and install the IP address so that a maximum of data flowing with minimum time and no data loss can be achieved. A class-C IP address was selected since it is the famous class and it doesn`t need any special equipment. Also it has a wide range of of computers in case of expanding the network. We didn`t use a wireless medium to protect the network from hacking. The network was based on an Ethernet medium and a star-connection between the computers with an average signal distributer. An excellent result was achieved after testing the network with a low error percentage, as shown in the result section of this paper.

Job satisfaction evaluation based on fuzzy conjoint method with continuous fuzzy sets

10.11591/ijeecs.v19.i1.pp363-370
Nor Azni Shahari , Khairulanwar Rasmani
Fuzzy conjoint method (FCM) is one of the available methods suggested for job satisfaction evaluation. The main feature of job satisfaction evaluation is the use of rating of agreement to indicate employee feelings and beliefs about their job. Currently the linguistic terms used for rating of agreement in FCM are represented in the form of discrete fuzzy sets.  This paper investigates the potential use of continuous fuzzy sets to represent linguistic terms used in the FCM process. To investigate the consistency of the decision outcomes produced by the proposed approach, four different types of fuzzy similarity measures were used: similarity based on Matching Function, similarity based on Euclidean Distance, similarity based on Set-Theoretic and similarity based on vector. These classification outcomes are also compared with classification drawn on the basis of statistical inference.  The finding of this study shows that both discrete fuzzy sets and continuous fuzzy sets produce consistent results regardless of whether the fuzzy similarity measure was used. Hence, the inclusion of other methods in FCM is particularly very useful for calculating the closeness coefficients and specifically addresses the shortcoming in FCM for job satisfaction evaluation.

Methodology for developing a web configurator for technology cabinets

10.11591/ijeecs.v19.i1.pp42-46
Shafik Shaehovich Khuzyatov , Lenar Ajratovich Galiullin
Current trends in the development of Internet technologies are very promising, their role in the functioning of enterprises is increasing significantly. Internet technologies are tools that allow you to interact with potential customers and consumers, receive feedback from them. At the same time, factors of physical remoteness are practically nullified. The situation with the rapid development of the Internet market means that in the process of forming the necessary configurations of technological cabinets for industrial facilities management systems, the use of manual labor should be minimized. The standard approach uses paper media, which leads to a large investment of time in the formation of the necessary configurations and the calculation of their cost. In this regard, increases the complexity of the work performed and the likelihood of errors in the calculations. Thus, the following problems can be formed: the lack of sufficient mechanisms for operational interaction with potential customers; time consuming paper handling; the complexity of the operations; high probability of errors in the calculations; lack of operational access to the necessary information.
