O.R. Kuzichkin , V.T. Eremenko , I.V. Loginov , A.V. Eremenko , S. V. Eremenko , A.V. Grecheneva , G.S. Vasilyev
The problem of the optimum choice of the modernization directions for geodynamic monitoring systems, which is solved in the conditions of changing the parameters of natural-technical systems (NTS) is considered in the work. The solution of the task is creating a list of the components modernization directions and validate ranking the most effective of them. As criterion of modernization the value of decrease in resource intensity of subsystem application is using. The task is considering the uncertainty of quantity of the arriving tasks. Within the suggested method, it is offered to determine the effect of resource by each modernization direction. The functional dependences on its increase depending on an expense of resources of modernization. The decision is reached by minimization of total cost of modernization resources for the system in the conditions of change using components intensity at change of external conditions.

Şener Şentürk , Volkan Duran
Life-long learning competencies, skills and attitudes are of having significance for education processes. The study was designed based on the correlational survey model. Population consists of 354 trainers in Public Education Centers in Samsun. In terms gender, there was a significant difference in lack of regulation and lack of curiosity dimension in favour of females in terms of lifelong learning tendencies. It was found that as the age level increases, the tendency to persistence which is the sub-factor of lifelong tendencies increases. It was found that as the level of education increases, persistence level decreases and regulation skill increases. No statistically significant difference was found between the mean scores of lifelong learning tendencies in terms of professional seniority variable and mode of their work. It was seen that the trainers who did not receive pedagodical formation had higher tendency in the fields of motivation and persistence. It was found that there was a significant difference in the sub-dimension of lack of regulation of learning according to the existance of any curriculum related to their field of study in favour of saying “no”.

10.11591/ijai.v9.i1.pp46-57
Shilpa Verma , G. T. Thampi , Madhuri Rao
Forecast of prices of financial assets including gold is of considerable importance for planning the economy. For centuries, people have been holding gold for many important reasons such as smoothening inflation fluctuations, protection from an economic crisis, sound investment etc.. Forecasting of gold prices is therefore an ever important exercise undertaken both by individuals and groups. Various local, global, political, psychological and economic factors make such a forecast a complex problem. Data analysts have been increasingly applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques to make such forecasts. In the present work an inter comparison of gold price forecasting in Indian market is first done by employing a few classical Artificial Neural Network (ANN) techniques, namely Gradient Descent Method (GDM), Resilient Backpropagation method (RP), Scaled Conjugate Gradient method (SCG), Levenberg-Marquardt method (LM), Bayesian Regularization method (BR), One Step Secant method (OSS) and BFGS Quasi Newton method (BFG). Improvement in forecasting accuracy is achieved by proposing and developing a few modified GDM algorithms that incorporate different optimization functions by replacing the standard quadratic error function of classical GDM. Various optimization functions investigated in the present work are Mean median error function (MMD), Cauchy error function (CCY), Minkowski error function (MKW), Log cosh error function (LCH) and Negative logarithmic likelihood function (NLG). Modified algorithms incorporating these optimization functions are referred to here by GDM_MMD, GDM_CCY, GDM_KWK, GDM_LCH and GDM_NLG respectively. Gold price forecasting is then done by employing these algorithms and the results are analysed. The results of our study suggest that  the forecasting efficiency improves considerably on applying the modified methods proposed by us.

Trilateration based localization method using mobile anchor in wireless sensor networks

10.11591/ijaas.v9.i1.pp34-42
M.G. Kavitha , Vinoth Kumar Kalimuthu , T. Jayasankar
Localization in wireless sensor networks (WSNs) is essential in many applications like target tracking, military applications and environmental monitoring. Anchors which are equipped with global positioning system (GPS) facility are useful for finding the location information of nodes. These anchor nodes may be static or dynamic in nature. In this paper, we propose mobile anchors assisted localization algorithm based on regular hexagons in two-dimensional WSNs. We draw a conclusion that the number of anchor nodes greatly affect the performance of localization in a WSN. An optimal number of anchor nodes significantly reduces the localization error of unknown nodes and also guarantees that unknown nodes can obtain high localization accuracy. Because of the mobility of anchor nodes high volume of sensing region is covered with less period of time and hence the coverage ratio of the proposed algorithm increases. Number of communications also decreases for the reason that the system contains loge (n) number of anchor nodes which leads to less energy consumption at nodes. Simulation results show that our LUMAT algorithm significantly outperforms the localization method containing single anchor node in the network. Movement trajectories of mobile anchors should be designed dynamically or partially according to the observable environment or deployment situations to make full use of real-time information during localization. This is the future research issue in the area of mobile anchor assisted localization algorithm.

This paper presents a rivew, investigation and performance analysis of novel down samples factor based modified space vector PWM is called clamping SVPWM technique for cascaded Multilevel Invereter fed to Induction motor drive. In this paper the reference sine wave generated as in case of conventional off set injected SVPWM technique is modified by down sampling factor the reference wave by order of 10. The performance analyses of this modulation strategies are analyzed by apply for five level, seven level, nine level and eleven level inverter. The performance analysis of cascaded inverter interms of line voltage, stator current, speed, torque and total harmonic distortion. The results are depicting that PD PWM is more effective among the four proposed PWM technique. It is observed that the CSV Pulse width modulation ensures excellent, close to optimized pulse distribution results compared to SPWM technique and also 11-level inverter beter performance in case of low THD and better foundemental output voltages comapared to 5, 7, 9-level inverter. The proposed technique has been simulated using MATLAB/SIMULINK software. This proposed technique can be applied to N-level multilevel Inverter also.

Uncertainty of the implementation time of geodynamic monitoring system in multi-criteria ranking of alternatives

10.11591/ijeecs.v17.i3.pp1249-1257
O.R. Kuzichkin , I.V. Loginov , V.T. Eremenko , S. V. Eremenko , G.S. Vasilyev , A.V. Grecheneva
The paper deals with the problem of ranking alternatives to geodynamic monitoring systems in the case of uncertainty of their implementation time. The problem is characterized by the fact that the choice of alternatives and the effect of it depends on the quality properties of the applied organizational and technical solutions, taking into account the time of implementation. The ordering of alternatives is proposed taking into account the uncertainty of the implementation time factors. Ranking is realized by comparing the trees of functional characteristics of alternatives taking into account the compliance of their characteristics with time-varying requirements. The scope of the proposed method is the choice of configurations of geodynamic monitoring systems with significant differences in the implementation time of alternatives.

10.11591/ijai.v9.i1.pp1-10
EL Meziati Marouane , Ziyati Elhoussaine
Mining Outlier in database is to find exceptional objects that deviate from the rest of the datasets. Besides classical outlier analysis algorithms, recent studies have focused on mining local outliers. The outliers that have density distribution significantly different from their neighborhood.  However, the existing outlier detection algorithms suffer the drawbacks that they are inefficient in dealing with large scale datasets. In this paper, we propose a novel approach for outlier detection with voluminous data. This approach involves a neighborhood fuzzy rough set theory to rank outlier according to fuzzy membership function computed in rough approximation space. In order to improve the speed of computation, an efficient parallel computing system based on Map Reduce model is developed

Design and implementation of an effective web-based hybrid stemmer for Odia language

10.11591/ijaas.v9.i1.pp12-19
Gouranga Charan Jena , Siddharth Swarup Rautaray
Stemmer is used for reducing inflectional or derived word to its stem. This technique involves removing the suffix or prefix affixed in a word. It can be used for information retrieval system to refine the overall execution of the retrieval process. This process is not equivalent to morphological analysis. This process only finds the stem of a word. This technique decreases the number of terms in information retrieval system. There are various techniques exists for stemming. In this paper, a new web-based stemmer has been proposed named as “Mula” for Odia Language. It uses the Hybrid approach (i.e. combination of brute force and suffix removal approach) for Odia language. The new born stemmer is both computationally faster and domain independent. The results are favourable and indicate that the proposed stemmer can be used effectively in Odia Information Retrieval systems. This stemmer also handles the problem of over-stemming and under-stemming in some extend.

Improving Graph-based methods for computing qualitative properties of markov decision processes

10.11591/ijeecs.v17.i3.pp1571-1577
Mohammadsadegh Mohagheghi , Khayyam Salehi
Probabilistic model checking is a formal verification method, which is used to guarantee the correctness of the computer systems with stochastic behaviors. Reachability probabilities are the main class of properties that are proposed in probabilistic model checking. Some graph-based pre-computation can determine those states for which the reachability probability is exactly zero or one. Iterative numerical methods are used to compute the reachability probabilities for the remaining states. In this paper, we focus on the graph-based pre-computations and propose a heuristic to improve the performance of these pre-computations. The proposed heuristic approximates the set of states that are computed in the standard pre-computation methods. The experiments show that the proposed heuristic can compute a main part of the expected states, while reduces the running time by several orders of magnitude.

This paper presents the Least Mean Square (LMS) noise canceller using uniform poly-phase digital filter bank to improve the noise can-cellation process. Analysis filter bank is used to decompose the full-band distorted input signal into sub-band signals. Decomposition the full-band input distorted signal into sub-band signals based on the fact that the signal to noise ratio (S/N) is inversely proportional to the signal bandwidth. Each sub-band signal is fed to individual LMS algorithm to produce the optimal sub-band output. Synthesis filter bank is used to compose the optimal sub-band outputs to produce the final optimal full-band output. In this paper, m-band uniform Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT) digital filter bank has been used because its computational complexity is much smaller than the direct implementation of digital filter bank. The simulation results show that the proposed method provides the efficient performance with less and smooth error signal as compared to conventional LMS noise canceller.

10.11591/ijeecs.v17.i3.pp1306-1312
Sirajum Munira , Humaira Sadia , Samara Fahin , Ashraf Siddik , A.K.M. Fazlul Haque
This paper describes the integration of mobile IP in mobile ad hoc network (MIPMANET) in large area network (LAN) between 8 nodes, where latency, delay, throughput is considered for the quality of service (QoS) consideration. For the best result of MIPMANET, the Dynamic Source Routing Protocol (DSR) and Optimized Link State Routing Protocol (OLSR) are considered. Although MANET has other routing protocols, the DSR performs better in MIPMANET integration in NS2. Mobile IP is applied for doing the dynamic topology to static topology as the nodes are flexible in an ad-hoc network. Simulation result suggests that the MANET performs better in DSR with MIP as the amount of packet drop is low and throughput is high
