This paper presents a highly efficient rectenna of RF energy harvesting systems operating at 1.8 GHz and 2.5 GHz bands for battery-less sensor application. The antenna is designed by CST-MWS. The Schottky diode used for rectifying circuit is HSMS 286B in which designed by Agilent ADS. The key finding of the paper is that the simulated DC output voltage of the rectenna is 1.35 V for low input power of -25 dBm at a high resistance load of 1M Ω. Correspondingly, the RF-DC conversion efficiency of the rectification process is 59.51% and 45.75% at 1.8 GHz and 2.5 GHz, which are high efficiency and much better compared to literature respectively. The rectenna is capable to produce 1.8 V from an input power of -20 dBm. Thus, the proposed RF energy harvesting system offers a promising solution designed for efficient functionality at a low power level of RF energy in the dual band.

Hierarchical robust fuzzy sliding mode control for a class of simo under-actuated systems with mismatched uncertainties

10.12928/telkomnika.v17i6.13176
Duc Ha; Hunan University Vu , Shoudao; Hunan University Huang , Thi Diep; Saodo University Tran
The development of the algorithms for single input multi output (SIMO) under-actuated systems with mismatched uncertainties is important. Hierarchical sliding-mode controller (HSMC) has been successfully employed to control SIMO under-actuated systems with mismatched uncertainties in a hierarchical manner with the use of sliding mode control. However, in such a control scheme, the chattering phenomenon is its main disadvantage. To overcome the above disadvantage, in this paper, a new compound control scheme is proposed for SIMO under-actuated based on HSMC and fuzzy logic control (FLC). By using the HSMC approach, a sliding control law is derived so as to guarantee the stability and robustness under various environments. The FLC as the second controller completely removes the chattering signal caused by the sign function in the sliding control law. The results are verified through theoretical proof and simulation software of MATLAB through two systems Pendubot and series double inverted pendulum.

In this research, has been a developed  modular approach  for investigation of the dynamic behavior and analysis the steady -state and transient cases  for a three-phase induction motor when it is fed with a balanced and unbalanced voltage , and analysis the  behavior of the Torque-Speed characteristics at various conditions. This analysis is done systematically by development two mathematically models. Where the first model is proposed   to simulate the dynamic behavior of the motor when supplying it at balanced and unbalanced voltage in Matlab/Simulink by using d-q axis theory in the reference frame. This model can investigate and described in details the behavior of the induction motor  parameters, and enables the researcher to calculate or investigate any variable for an induction machine  parameter ; (e.g. The  voltage, current, flux, speed and torque as a function of time) in both cases  transient and steady state , when the motor in operation state  [11-16].  The other model is proposed to simulate in the Microsoft Excel program, by using  the ratio between the conventions  of the electromagnetic torque equation(Tem)  and maximum torque equation (Tmax) . To study and analysis the behavior of the Torque-Speed characteristics for a 3-phase induction motor. Where this models study's by using Excel program's and Matlab / Simulink to simulation the effect of the various parameters on the dynamic behavior of the motor such as  inserting variable external resistance in series with rotor circuit , and when supplying the stator by variable voltage. These Mathematical models could be   used for a wide range of motors which has a various horse powers , which needing it in a scientific research and practical applications.

Currently, cryptography plays a major role in various computer and technological applications. With the high number of internet users, the use of cryptography to provide information security has become a priority. Several applications such as e-mails, electronic banking, medical databases and e-commerce require the exchange of private information. While, if the connection is not secure, this sensitive information can be attacked. The best-known cryptographic systems rely on the generation of random numbers, which are fundamental in various cryptographic applications such as key generation and data encryption. In what follows, we want to use pseudo-random sequences generated by the middle square generator. In this work, it must be possible to estimate that the data produced has random characteristics, knowing that the algorithm used is deterministic. Overall, this paper focuses on the testing of pseudo-random sequences generated by the middle square generator and its use in data encryption.

Navigating safely in the real environment especially in the outdoor setting requires a blind person to be equipped with the spatial knowledge and possess the skills in mobility and orientation. The aims of this study are to investigate the existing wayfinding learning techniques taught to blind people and to identify the challenges during the teaching and learning processes. A two days of observation during a mobility practical session was conducted at Malaysian Association for the Blind (MAB). The first objective was to explore the current techniques used by mobility instructor to teach visually impaired students for a wayfinding and second, to identify the challenges faced by the mobility instructor and the visually impaired students in the teaching and learning processes of wayfinding. The study discovered that the major problem faced by the mobility instructor was with the lack of teaching aids to describe a new environment to visually impaired students. This leads to the lack of time that caused the visually impaired students perceived insufficient information which was hard for them to construct the intended cognitive maps. From the findings, this paper concludes by discussing the recommendations primarily on the use of technology in addressing the problems identified in this study.

This work proposes an implementation of wireless sensor node characterized by its very low power consumption. The node comprises three main components: Xbee module, low power PIC microcontroller and digital sensor. The node can be set to sense then transmit data via one of two transmission methods: periodic and by interruptions. To evaluate the power consumption; currents in the node is measured during the different transmission stages for both methods. As a result, a significant reduction in the power consumption is shown particularly in sleep mode compared to conventional transmission methods. The characteristic of low power consumption makes the proposed node practically ecologic. It can also be fed with the extrem low power supplied by an energy harvesting system.

All syariah criminal cases, especially in khalwat offence have their case-fact, and the judges typically look forward to all the facts which were tabulated by the prosecutors. A variety of criteria is considered by the judge to determine the fines amount that should be imposed on an accused who pleads guilty. In Terengganu, there were ten (10) judges, and the judgments were made by the individual decision upon the trial to decide the case. Each judge has a stake, principles and distinctive criteria in determining fines amount on an accused who pleads guilty and convicted. This research paper presents an Adaptive Neuro-fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) technique combining with Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) for estimating fines amount in Syariah (khalwat) criminal. Datasets were collected under the supervision of registrar and syarie judge in the Department of Syariah Judiciary State Of Terengganu, Malaysia. The results showed that ANFIS+AHP could estimate fines efficiently than the traditional method with a very minimal error.
