State Feedback Linearization of a Non-linear Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Drive

10.11591/ijeecs.v1.i3.pp534-542
Pilla Ramana , Karlapudy Alice Mary , Munagala Surya Kalavathi
Control system design for inverter fed drives previously used the classical transfer function approach for single-input singleoutput (SISO) systems. Proportional plus Integral (PI) controllers were designed for individual control loops. It is found that the transient response of a PI controller is slow and is improved by pole placement through state feedback. However, the effective gains of the PI controller are substantially decreased as a function of the increase of motor speed. A control system is generally characterized by the hierarchy of the control loops, where the outer loop controls the inner loops. The inner loops are designed to execute progressively faster. The speed controller (PI controller) processes the speed error and generates the reference torque. In the inner loop, firstly a non-linear controller is designed for the system by which the system nonlinearity is canceled using state or exact feedback linearization. In addition, a linear state feedback control law based on pole placement technique including the integral of output error (IOE) is used in order to achieve zero steady state error with respect to reference current specification, while at the same time improving the dynamic response. The proposed scheme has been validated through extensive simulation using MATLAB.

Acoustic underwater link due to low attenuation is employed for underwater sensor network (UWSN). Due to water changing physical properties and different environmental conditions, the sound propagation for every underwater channel are different. So, the most important parameters to design reliable UWSN are: the shadow zone determination, optimum nodes placement, high signal to noise ratio and more power efficiency of nodes. This paper simulates underwater channel for 7 KHz carrier frequency, with measured physical water properties and remote sensing data. Based on defined scenario, the research determines optimum nodes placement and link budget analysis based on bottom to surface acoustic link. The paper utilizes Bellhop acoustic toolbox as a simulator, GeoMapApp program to collects bathymetry data and Aviso+ database to determine wind speed on sea surface. As a result the paper based on simulation of sound propagation in channel and transmission loss determination in depth and range, finds the optimum nodes positions and link budget calculation to prove the results.

Accompanying with the speeding up of Internet of things (IOT) construction, the dependability problems become the important factors constraining its all-round development. Based on the multi-level and multidimensional properties of IOT dependability elements, with the overall improving of the dependability index of IOT as the ultimate goal, the dependability elements of the local fine-tuning in each layer, this paper researches the change rule of internal dependability elements in perception layer, network layer and business layer, and adopts perception layer as the example, using the method of linear programming to seek the best proportion of all kinds of dependability elements and the optimal values of the elements, trying to construct a feasible autonomic optimization model for dependability elements of IOT system. Firstly, according to the function features and dependability properties of each layer, and change rules between the dependability index and dependability elements in each layer are analyzed. Secondly, based on the dynamic changes (up or down) of dependability elements in internal environment (that is, three layers in IOT), the ratio relations of dependability elements in each layer are dynamically controlled and adjusted to implement the local optimization, improving the overall autonomic configuration and autonomic adjusting ability of IOT system. At last, example analysis results show that the optimization model proposed in this paper can realize the substantial optimization in each layer of IOT.

Tari; Universitas Gadjah Mada Mardiana , Teguh; Universitas Gadjah Mada Bharata Adji , Indriana; Universitas Gadjah Mada Hidayah
In this paper we would like to discuss about stemming effect by using Nazief and Adriani algorithm against similarity detection result of Indonesian written abstract. The contents of the publication abstract similarity detection can be used as an early indication of whether or not the act of plagiarism in a writing. Mostly in processing the text adding a pre-process, one of it which is called a stemming by changing the word into the root word in order to maximize the searching process. The result of stemming process will be changed as a certain word n-gram set then applied an analysis of similarity using Fingerprint Matching to perform similarity matching between text. Based on the F1-score which used to balance the precision and recall number, the detection that implements stemming and stopword removal has a better result in detecting similarity between the text with an average is 42%. It is higher comparing to the similarity detection by using only stemming process (31%) or the one that was done without involving the text pre-process (34%) while applying the bigram.

The algorithm of location and position determination was designed for humanoid soccer robot. The robots have to be able to control the ball effectively on the field of Indonesian Robot Soccer Competition which has a size of 900 cm x 600 cm. The algorithm of location and position determination uses parameters, such as the goalpost’s thickness, the compass value, and the robot’s head servo value. The goalpost’s thickness is detected using The Centre of Gravity method. The width of the goalpost detected is analyzed using the principles of camera geometry to determine the distance between the robot and the goalpost. The tangent value of head servo’s tilt angle is used to determine the distance between the robot and the ball. The distance between robot-goalpost and the distance between robot-ball are processed with the difference of head servo’s pan angle and compass value using trigonometric formulas to determine the coordinates of the robot and the ball in the Cartesian coordinates.

Determining right model of business process from event log is the purpose of process discovery. However some problems i.e the inability to discover OR, noise and event log incompleteness are emmerged while determining right model of business process. First, OR relation is often discovered as AND relation. Second, noise problem is occured when there are truncated and low frequency traces in event log. Thus control-flow pattern is used to solve issues of same noise relation frequency hence it discovers relation based on transaction function of activity. Consequently, it can refine non noise relation in business process model. Third, incompleteness leads to incorrect discovery of parallel process model; therefore we used Timed-based Process Mining which utilized non-linear dependence to solve the incompleteness. Finally this paper proposed combination of Timed-based Process Mining and control-flow pattern to discover OR and handle same frequency noise and incompleteness. From the experiment in section 3, this proposed method manages to get right process model from event log.

10.12928/telkomnika.v14i1.2634
V.N.V.; Rajeev Gandhi Memorial College of Engineering and Technology Satya Prakash , K. Satya; Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada Prasad , T. Jaya; Rajeev Gandhi Memorial College of Engineering and Technology Chandra Prasad
Digital cameras acquire color images using a single sensor with Color filter Arrays. A single color component per pixel is acquired using color filter arrays and the remaining two components are obtained using demosaicing techniques. The conventional demosaicing techniques existent induce artifacts in resultant images effecting reconstruction quality. To overcome this drawback a frequency based demosaicing technique is proposed. The luminance and chrominance components extracted from the frequency domain of the image are interpolated to produce intermediate demosaiced images. A novel Neural Network Based Image Reconstruction Algorithm is applied to the intermediate demosaiced image to obtain resultant demosaiced images. The results presented in the paper prove the proposed demosaicing technique exhibits the best performance and is applicable to a wide variety of images.

Application of A Self-adaption Dual Population Genetic Algorithm in Multi-objective Optimization Problems

10.12928/telkomnika.v14i1.2740
Cheng; Hunan International Economics University Zhang , Hao; Hunan International Economics University Peng
Multi-objective evolutionary algorithm is a powerful tool in resolving multi-objective optimization problems. This algorithm inherits the advantages of parallel random search, strong global searching capability and the ability to solve highly-complicated non-linear problems of evolutionary algorithm and it is usually used in the optimization problems with multiple mutual conflicts. However, such algorithms are slow in convergence and easy to be trapped in local optimal solution. This paper proposes a multi-objective dual population genetic algorithm (MODPGA) and explores the improvement strategies of multi-objective genetic algorithm. The adoption of self-adaption and dual population strategy can guarantee that the algorithm of this paper can converge to Pareto solution set in a reliable and quick manner and it can perform more extensive search on the objective function space and conduct more samples on multi-objective functions so as to be closer to the approximate optimal solution set of global optimal solutions. This solution set also includes more optimal feasible points and provides reliable basis for the decision making.

The Effort to Decrease Maternal and Child Mortality Rates through Cultural Transformation

10.11591/ijphs.v5i1.4768
Atik Triratnawati , Rani Ditya Kristianti , Aldo Pandega Putra , Pandu Bagas Setyaji
Maternal and infant mortality in Ende is still high, but research related a social science is rare. The cultural aspect and medical factors such as the lack of primary health care services are also play a role. This study aims are to identifying and formulate the local cultural transformation as a way to solve maternal and infant mortality. This ethnographic research was conducted in 2013. The study carried not only interviews, but also observation towards reproductive-age women, heads of family, traditional birth attendants, doctors, midwives, local leaders, adat leaders, pastors and sisters, local government officials, and head of health district at Ende. Data is analysed phenomenologically. The strong belief to adat and local tradition has implication to people’s attitude towards traditional birth attendants. Traditional birth attendants hold superior position in the community. They also have strong influence due to their ability to massage, correctly guess infant’s sex, reposition infant in the womb, and stop bleeding during labor. Maternal and/or infant mortality has nothing to do with traditional birth attendants because local people believe that such case happens as a result of hex or black magic called ru’u. Anemia, bleeding, food taboo, and incorrect diet pattern worsen the overall condition of pregnant women. Cultural transformation is done by alternating TBAs practices in massaging pregnant women. TBAs are encouraged to massage pregnant women’s back instead of stomach since pregnant women often have to deal with low back pain during pregnancy.

Perception of Community Health Workers in Indonesia toward Patients with Mental Disorders

10.11591/ijphs.v5i1.4759
Shanti Wardaningsih , Takayuki Kageyama
In Indonesia, there are any community health volunteers called Kader. Although Kaders are members of mental health volunteer, they sometimes show negative attitude to psychotic persons, even they have already got some training about mental health. The aims of this study were to investigate 1) how is Kader's perception compare to the other countries, 2) how will they consult compare to the other countries 3) how is comparison of Kaders’ perception to mental disorder person between trained and untrained. The method of this research is a descriptive explorative using survey study. This study was held on June to September 2013. It was conducted in five districts of Yogyakarta area with 619 respondents. The Questionnaires used contained three sections are follows; Part A is about Demographic Data, Part B two case vignettes (taken from MacArthur Health Module of the 1996 general Social Survey) and Part C about Kaders experiences. The perception of Kader as part of the community is lower than the general residence in the United States and Japan. The comparison between trained and untrained Kaders shown that trained Kaders has better perception toward patient with mental disorder. These results suggest that actual experiences in meeting the cases contributed to the improvement of Kaders’ perception better than the previous mental health training did. It might be Kaders with short experience are explored information Kaders should be trained with more structured curriculum and recruiting Kader is recommended to recruit the young generation.

Twitter Tweet Classifier

10.11591/ijai.v5.i1.pp41-44
Ashwin V
This paper addresses the task of building a classifier that would categorise tweets in Twitter. Microblogging nowadays has become a tool of communication for Internet users. They share opinion on different aspects of life. As the popularity of the microblogging sites increases the closer we get to the era of Information Explosion.Twitter is the second most used microblogging site which handles more than 500 million tweets tweeted everyday which translates to mind boggling 5,700 tweets per second. Despite the humongous usage of twitter there isn’t any specific classifier for these tweets that are tweeted on this site. This research attempts to segregate tweets and classify them to categories like Sports, News, Entertainment, Technology, Music, TV, Meme, etc. Naïve Bayes, a machine learning algorithm is used for building a classifier which classifies the tweets when trained with the twitter corpus. With this kind of classifier the user may simply skim the tweets without going through the tedious work of skimming the newsfeed.
