10.11591/ijeecs.v12.i9.pp6860-6867
Yuan Wang , Zhongpei Zhang , Yixian Chen
Multi-cell joint channel estimation (JCE) is the basis for application of multi-cell cooperative processing. For weakness of the existing algorithms that power delay profile (PDP) knowledge of all multiple cells need be known or pilot sequence sets of all cells must be identical, in this paper, a pilot-aided time domain JCE algorithm is presented. And then, by using Generalized Akaike Information Criterion (GAIC) to estimate PDPs of all cells for reducing the signal space of channel estimation, the paper further optimizes this JCE algorithm. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithms have good mean square error (MSE) and corresponding space frequency block coded (SFBC) cooperative multi-cell transmission system has the good bit error rate (BER) performance too.

This paper describes the impact of the distribution development in order to identify optimum location and sizing for distribution generation (DG) in power system network. Highly demand on the load will lead to in control power distributed by introducing power losses via transmitting the power. Therefore, small-scale electricity generation is required to ensure the large power generated can be used for particular location to minimize losses. In addition, the implementation of distribution generation will slightly reduce the capital cost compared to existing power plant due to space, speed and source required. Thus, proper DG location will significantly enhance the impact on the power flow analysis by considering the source of energy easily obtained. This study will be conducted by using Matlab and the proposed algorithm (MPEP)will be applied on IEEE 30 buses radial distribution system network. As results, the DG is located at optimal locations and sizes rely on the losses consume in various type of DGs technology system used in the network. On the others hand, the condition and location DG itself will generate the optimal power contribution depends on the design strategies that have been implemented.

For guaranteeing all multicast destination nodes receiving the source information with their maximal flow respectively and obtaining the network maximal throughput, a heuristic algorithm based on network coding, Maximal Flow for Single-source Two-destinations Multicast (MFSTM) is proposed to maximize the network throughput. By calculating the each destination’s maximal flow, the number of link-disjoint paths which equals to destination’s maximal flow, are searched for each destination to construct the network coding graph. A heuristic algorithm based on network coding is designed to delete the redundant link in the network coding graph and guarantee the network throughput maximization. Comparing the traditional maximal multicast stream algorithm based on network coding, the simulation results show that the MFSTM algorithm makes two destinations receive the information at the speed of their maximal flow respectively, and decode the source node information at each destination node successfully.

Changfan Zhang , Xiao Yuanyuan , Wen Long , He Jing
The degree of precision for positioning of adjustable rollers during pre-registering stage has direct influences on register precision of the entire printing. The paper puts forward control strategy of sliding mode variable structure-based electronic virtual line shafting based on the influences of low-speed pre-register process of shaft-less drive printing press on register precision and the influences of nonlinearity and disturbance on synchronous precision of printing process. It also proves the stability of the control algorithm using Lyapunov function. The experimental results demonstrate that the control strategy proposed by this paper can realize synchronous control of shaft-less drive printing press, and also can inhibit effectively the influences on synchronization of system position due to change of parameters and friction during pre-registering stage.

Hui Li , Suyan Zhang , Zhanzhan Zhang
Traditional iris recognition method has low speed and searching rate in large-scale unstructured database. Three different quantum algorithms are proposed in iris recognition. Quantum filtering algorithm can get a better filtering result than classical algorithm in iris filtering process. Quantum Fourier transforms exhibits an exponential speed-up compared with discrete Fourier transform in feature extraction. Improved Grover algorithm can reduce the matching time in the step of iris matching. The experiment results show that matching numbers and matching time reduce greatly.

Tissue Flow Detection Using Fuzzy Logic Method in Color Flow Imaging

10.11591/ijeecs.v12.i9.pp6840-6845
Xiaoming Zhou , Wen Liu
Tissue/flow detection is critical for high quality 2-D color flow image. The traditional tissue/flow detection method is based on one or several thresholds which are used for parameters after autocorrelation. Generally a lot of parameters: flow magnitude, variance and velocity are applied for tissue/flow detection. But this method may not distinguish tissue/flow because of moving tissue or noise. So in this paper, fuzzy logic method with multi-level range based on in vivo carotid I/Q data was proposed with three parameters: echo amplitude, flow magnitude and Flow variance for tissue/flow detection and then decision look-up-table (LUT) was designed for real time display. Experiment results shows that fuzzy logic method was improved for tissue flow detection significantly and can get high quality 2-D color flow image.

Yong; Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications Chen , Xiong; Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications Jie , Huan-lin; Key Laboratory of Optical Fiber Communication Technology Liu , Qiang; Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications Fan
For getting the useful object information from infrared image and mining more detail of low light level (LLL) image, we propose a new fusion method based on segmentation and enhancement methods in the paper. First, using 2D maximum entropy method to segment the original infrared image for extracting infrared target, enhancing original LLL image by Zadeh transform for mining more detail information, on the basis of the segmented map to fuse the enhanced LLL image and original infrared image. Then, original infrared image, the enhanced LLL image and the first fused image are used to realize fusion in non-subsampled contourlet transform (NSCT) domain, we get the second fused image. By contrast of experiments, the fused image of the second fused method’s visual effect is better than other methods’ from the literature. Finally, Objective evaluation is used to evaluate the fused images’ quality, its results also show that the proposed method can pop target information, improve fused image’s resolution and contrast.

10.11591/ijeecs.v12.i9.pp6519-6525
Rajib Baran Roy , Md. Rokonuzzaman
In order to reduce the green house gas emission and dependency on conventional energy sources, the utilization of renewable energy sources for electricity generation is increasing day by day. The performance of the wind turbine as well as the power quality is determined according to the guidelines and regulations of IEC-61400 (International Electro-technical Commission) standard. When wind turbine is connected to a grid system, the power quality measurements like active power, reactive power, frequency, voltage sag, voltage swell, flicker and harmonics are needed to be considered. In this paper, a STATCOM (static compensator) model is proposed for improving the power quality in case of feeding electricity generated from the wind turbine into the grid. The proposed STATCOM control scheme for improving the wind power quality is designed and simulated by using Simpower toolbox of MATLAB Simulink. According to the simulated results, the bus voltage is improved after adding STATCOM in the simulated model which justifies the feasibility and practicability of the proposed FACTS (Flexible AC transmission system) device.
