Ali Abdulwahhab Mohammed , Li Yu , Manar Al-Kali , Desheng Wang
In this paper we study the effect of diversity combining for Nakagami -m fading Channels in the amplify-and-forward cooperative networks. We derive the cumulative density function (CDF), probability density function (PDF) and moment generating function (MGF) for the multiple relay amplify-and-forward network with single half duplex channel maximal ratio combiner (MRC). In this network we investigate the cases of MRC at the destination, as well derive the exact Symbol Error Rate (SER) of M-ary phase-shift keying (M-PSK), and quadrature amplitude modulation (M-QAM) in Nakagami -m fading environment. We present a comparison between M-PSK and M-QAM modulation schemes in some representative scenarios where an arbitrary number of cooperative relays is considered.

Optimal Economic Ordering Policy with Trade Credit and Discount Cash-Flow Approach

10.12928/telkomnika.v13i4.2910
Hao; Suzhou University Jiaqin , Mo; Guangxi University Jiangtao , Min; Anhui Jianzhu University Jie
In this paper, an inventory model for deteriorating items under two levels of trade credit will be established. The trade credit policy depends on the retailer’s order quantity. When the retailer’s order quantity is greater than or equal to a predetermined quantity, both of the supplier and the retailer are taking trade credit policy; otherwise, the delay in payments is not permitted. Since the same cash amount has different values at different points of time, the discount cash-flow (DCF) is used to analysis the inventory model. The purpose of this paper is to find an optimal ordering policy to minimizing the present value of all future cash-flows cost by using DCF approach. The method to determine the optimal ordering policy efficiently is presented. Some numerical examples are provided to demonstrate the model and sensitivity of some important parameters are illustrated the optimal solutions.

Gang; Heilongjiang University Li , Xiaofeng; Heilongjiang University Zhao , Dianzhong; Heilongjiang University Wen , Yang; Heilongjiang University Yu
This paper describes a kind of silicon-based plane spiral inductance coil ,whose layout size and fabrication technology process are given. The production of inductance coil adopts the method of an internal down-lead produced by ohm contact electrode which is formed by heavily boron- diffused and the Al evaporated on the surface of N-type high resistivity silicon wafer. Processing the silicon cup on The back of the silicon wafer using Microelectromechanical system (MEMS) technology, on the basis of thickness reduction of the inductance coil substrate, the porous array substrate of about 5μm thickness is obtained by laser drilling on the underside of the silicon cup, which reduces the vortex of substrate, and greatly improves the Q value of inductance coil. Analyze the effects of series resistance of the coil and metal layer thickness on the Q value in the condition of low frequency and high frequency, and Ansys software is used to simulate the inductance coil current density and magnetic induction intensity, to determine the optimum substrate thickness of inductance coil. The silicon-based plane spiralind inductance coil has the advantages of simple manufacturing process and is compatible with IC technology, compared with other manufacturing method, so it has a wide application prospect.

Electrical tracking is a formation process of a permanent conducting path across the insulating material due to surface erosion under high voltage stress. The existing of leakage current (LC) on the wet contaminated material surface causes the generation of surface discharges that resulted in the material degradation. The effects of electric field distribution and current density on LLDPE-Natural Rubber blends material were investigated using finite element method (FEM) analysis. In this paper, a variety of physical parameters particularly contaminant flow rate, various applied voltages, material properties of permittivity and conductivity were studied when nanofiller is added to LLDPE-Natural rubber blend. The simulation works using FEM software of Quickfield was applied to the tracking test condition of IEC 60587 standard.  The results show that the electric field distributions are critical on the edges of contaminant solution path at higher voltage level. The current density and electric field distribution is increase with higher applied voltage. The polymer nanocomposite with 1-5 % of nanofiller exhibits a good resistance to tracking and erosion test.

A Neighbor-finding Algorithm Involving the Application of SNAM in Binary-image Representation

10.12928/telkomnika.v13i4.1899
Jie; Wuzhou University He , Hui; Wuzhou University Guo , Defa; Hunan University of Commerce Hu
In view of the low execution efficiency and poor practicability of the existing neighbor-finding method, a fast neighbor-finding algorithm is put forward on the basis of Square Non-symmetry and Anti-packing Model (SNAM) for binary-image. First of all, the improved minor-diagonal scanning way is applied to strengthen SNAM’s adaptability to various textures, thus reducing the total number of nodes after coding; then the storage structures for its sub-patterns are standardized and a grid array is used to recover the spatial-position relationships among sub-patterns, so as to further reduce the complexity of the neighbor-finding algorithm. Experimental result shows that this method’s execution efficiency is significantly higher than that of the classic Linear Quad Tree (LQT)-based neighbor-finding method.

Loukal Keltoum , Benalia Leila
The fuzzy controllers have demonstrated their effectiveness in the control of nonlinear systems, and in many cases have established their robust and that their performance is less sensitive to parameter variations over conventional controllers. In this paper, Interval Type-2 Fuzzy Logic Controller (IT2FLC) method is proposed for controlling the speed with a direct stator flux orientation control of doubly-fed induction motor (DFIM), we made a comparison between the Type-1 Fuzzy Logic Control (T1FLC) and IT2FLC of the DFIM, first a modeling of DFIM is expressed in a (d-q) synchronous rotating frame. After the development and the synthesis of a stabilizing control laws design based on IT2FLC. We use this last approach to the control of the DFIM under different operating conditions such as load torque and in the presence of parameter variation. The obtained simulation results show the feasibility and the effectiveness of the suggested method.

Rank fusion meta-search engine algorithms can be used to merge web search results of multiple search engines. In this paper we introduce two variants of the Weighted Borda-Fuse algorithm. The first variant retrieves documents based on popularities of component engines. The second one is based on k user-defined toplist of component engines. In this research, experiments were performed on k={50,100,200} toplist with AND/OR combinations implemented on ‘UNIB Meta Fusion’ meta-search engine prototype which employed 3 out of 5 popular search engines. Both of our two algorithms outperformed other rank fusion algorithms (relevance score is upto 0.76 compare to Google that is 0.27, at P@10). The pseudo-relevance automatic judgement techniques involved are Reciprocal Rank, Borda Count, and Condorcet. The optimal setting was reached for queries with operator "AND" (degree 1) or "AND ... AND" (degree 2) with k=200. The ‘UNIB Meta Fusion’ meta-search engine system was built correctly.

10.12928/telkomnika.v13i4.1357
Sun; Hainan Vocational College of Political Science and Law Min
A monitoring system for geological archives with TCP/IP network communication is designed in this research to address wide distribution range, long distance, slow data updating, and difficult maintenance of city and county geological archives. The designed system uses the single chip STC11F32XE and the Ethernet control chip RTL8019AS as a hardware platform. The hardware design scheme, software design method, and the main programming flowchart of the geological archive monitoring unit were presented, and a specific data test was carried out. This monitoring system not only monitors and controls temperature, humidity, ponding, power supply, and other environmental data in geological archives, but also realizes geological data transmission between city (county) and provincial geological archives. In addition, this system is designed with a GSM warning mechanism, which could accelerate the quick response mechanism of the system. The entire monitoring system is accessed through the provincial environmental resources website with a fixed IP address. To ensure standardization of the monitoring system, the data transmission standard of the application layer used the associated standards of the Ministry of National Land and Resources. The entire system design improves the storage environment of the geological data effectively. It provides important data support to solve inconsistencies between provincial and city (county) geological data, as well as ensures scientific management of geological issues.

Aiman Zakwan; Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka Jidin , Tole; Universitas Ahmad Dahlan Sutikno
Square root is one of the mathematical operations which are widely used in digital signal processing. Its implementation on hardware such as FPGA will provide several advantages compare to the performance offered in software. There are several algorithms which can be utilized for this calculation, but they are difficult to be implemented in FPGA. This paper presents a model of FPGA based square root calculator, which requires very low resources usage, thus occupying very low area of FPGA. The model is designed to suit the needs of medium-speed and low-speed applications which don’t need very high processing speed, while optimizing the number of resources utilized. The modified non-restoring algorithm is used in this design to compute the square root. The design is coded in RTL VHDL, and implemented in Altera DE2-board for hardware validation. The implementation produced very precise square root calculation, with low latency computation and low area consumption, for various input data width tested.

A Novel Approach to Optimize Cognitive Radio Network Utilization using Cascading Technique

10.12928/telkomnika.v13i4.2341
H Venkatesh; Nagarjuna College of Engineering & Technology Kumar , M.N.; Andhra Pradesh Giriprsad
The cognitive network suffers from scarcity of channels. The Unlicensed users (UU) borrow channels from the licensed users (LU). But when the LUs want them, the UUs have to stop their transmission and handle the channel back to the LUs. This results in delay in transmission of data by UUs. We propsed  an algorithm mostly focusing to meet the delay,by using a data cascading technique where the data of the UUs are stored in the intermediate nodes so that even if the transmission is interrupted, the data is not lost. The experimental results show that proposed system is better than other existing systems.
