Zhiguo Huang , Zhixin Huang , Xihe Cui , Shengli Han
Multi digital output relative humidity and temperature sensors-SHT71 were set network monitoring points in the system, which can measure at any moment, timing, real-time temperature and relative humidity per point of the environment by-turn. Temperature-humidity value, dew-point value, date and time per point were displayed by lattice graphics LCM (Liquid Crystal Display Module) HY-12864K. At the same time, they were saved in nonvolatile FRAM (Ferroelectric Random Access Memory) FM31256, which can assure data do not lose after the power of the system fail. Acquired data can be uploaded directly to PC in the USB-HOST mode or be copied indirectly to PC far away from testing field by flash disk in the USB-DEVICE mode. The application software not only can draw temperature, humidity and dew-point curve and calculate maximum, minimum, average, but also can make further statistical analysis, report forms printing and set-up basic measure parameters of the system. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.5114

Nonlinear Robust Control Approach Based on Integrity

https://ijeecs.iaescore.com/index.php/IJEECS/article/view/3392
Chen Jinli , Xue Yali , Liu Xingang
A kind of Nonlinear Robust Control (NRC) approach based on integrity for multivariable systems is presented. It uses model estimator which provides the approximate model information to compensate the non-modeled dynamics, system uncertainties, and external disturbances of a system. Firstly, the existence of NRC with integrity is examined. Then, stable regions of each NRC’s parameters are calculated, and some parameters are obtained by placing suitable closed-loop poles, for meeting the design specifications of the whole control system. The proposed method is applied to two illustrative examples from literature. Results demonstrate that NRC is feasible and robust for complicated multivariable systems. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.4926

https://ijeecs.iaescore.com/index.php/IJEECS/article/view/3395
Hsiau Wen Lin , Hwei Jen Lin , Yue Sheng Li , Fu-Wen Yang
An iris recognition system uses the iris to distinguish the identity of a person using the rich iris texture feature. To effectively remove noise and precisely segment the stable iris region is a crucial stage prior to recognition. Most noises on iris images are caused by occlusion of eyelids or eyelashes in certain areas. In this paper, we propose an iris recognition system which precisely locates and segments iris regions. We extract the iris feature from a relatively reliable portion of the iris region using a DoG filter. Experimental results show that the proposed iris recognition system has satisfactory results in terms of time efficiency and recognition rate. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.4951

A Kind of H2/H∞Filtering Sheme on Deformation Monitoring Data

https://ijeecs.iaescore.com/index.php/IJEECS/article/view/3389
Chengman Sha , Yachun Mao , Dongmei Yang
Based on the research of the Kalman filter, a kind of H2/H∞filter is put forward which depends on the model. H2 filter assumes that the noise is white noise, but does not require the statistical properties, also ignores color noise. H∞ filter only considers the non-white and energy- limited noise. It can ensure the accuracy of the filter in worst frequency point, but doesn’t consider the influence of white noise. Synthesizing the advantages and disadvantages of H2 and H∞ filter scheme, H2/H∞hybrid filter devide the noise into the white noise and non-white noise of limited energy. Baed on norm analysis about the noise and system, the optimization index J is adopted as the optimization goal, and its physical meaning is given. The hybrid filter is designed by solving the corresponding Riccati Equation, the simulation and actual calculation example are given. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.4935

An Adaptive All-odd transformation Watermark Scheme

https://ijeecs.iaescore.com/index.php/IJEECS/article/view/3481
Qiaomei Ma , Lijun Wu , Jianhong Du , Gouxi Chen , Qiuxiang Yang
Combining discrete wavelet transform, human visual system, chaotic map and odd-even quantization, a novel watermarking scheme for 2D images is proposed in this paper. Encrypted watermarking and identity information are imperceptibly embedded in 2D images according to this scheme. For improving the accuracy of just noticeable distortion and enhance robustness of algorithm, the model adaptively adjusts the threshold intensity by adding weighting factor and strengthening the brightness sensitivity calculation method of just noticeable distortion. The bijection relationship is constructed between the image coefficients and watermarking bits by the way of all-odd transformation to the just noticeable distortion, so the scheme realizes blind extraction of watermark. The experimental results and analysis show that the proposed scheme can resist intentional or unintentional variety of attacks and have superiority comparing with existing schemes. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.4228

One-pass Moment Algorithm for Graphical Primitives

https://ijeecs.iaescore.com/index.php/IJEECS/article/view/3447
Zhiyong Ju , Chunmei Su
Moment is a useful tool in character and drawing recognition. As the moment computation is time-consuming, the main aim in this area is to develop a fast algorithm. The commonly-used method is the discrete Green’s theorem, which transforms the double summation into a summation on region contour. An improved discrete Green’s theorem proposed in this paper, which removes the constraint on parity pairing, thus extends its validity in applying the algorithm to complex regions. The contour tracing is fulfilled by a boundary-tracing-automation, and the central moments for graphical primitives are computed by one-pass scanning algorithm, the calculation of the moment is greatly simplified DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.5099

https://ijeecs.iaescore.com/index.php/IJEECS/article/view/3385
Peng-bin Gao , Weiwei Wu , Bo Yu
The field of improvisation is composed of a multiplicity of topics leading to a vast array of management literature. However, the research does not provide a chronological picture of the topics it addresses, making it difficult to develop an overview of the evolution and trends in the literature. To address this issue, co-word analysis was employed to reveal patterns and trends in the improvisation field by measuring the association strengths of keywords of relevant documents. Data were collected from Web of Knowledge database for the period 1997-2012. Using the co-occurrence matrix of keywords, the results of multivariate statistical techniques show that the improvisation research involves many fields including innovation, strategy, learning, change, leadership, metaphor, entrepreneurship, capability. In order to trace the dymamic changes of the improvisation field, the whole period was further separated into three periods: 1997-2002, 2003-2007 and 2008-2012. The strategic diagram and social network analysis was used to trace the dynamic changes of the improvisation research, and results show that improvisation field has some established research themes and it also changes rapidly to embrace new themes. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.4927

Yumin Liu , Haofei Zhou , Shuai Zhang
The improvement of the effective recognition of quality abnormal patterns in dynamic process has seen increasing demands nowadays in the real-time monitor and diagnose of automatic manufacturing. Based on the analysis of the dynamic process of quality abnormal pattern, this paper presents a recognition model of quality abnormal pattern recognition using a Multi-SVM. Contrasting with performance of recognition model based on different kernel functions, suitable kernel functions were selected for the recognition model. Furthermore, we have contrasted the model proposed in this paper with the model adopted by Vahid. Simulation results show that the recognition model proposed in this paper has very high recognition accuracy for all patterns, and the overall average recognition accuracy is 97.78%. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.4919

Design of a Grating Generator for Three-dimensional Scanner

https://ijeecs.iaescore.com/index.php/IJEECS/article/view/3419
He Xingzheng
In the three-dimensional scanners (3D scanners) based on structured-light technology, the commercial video projector was always borrowed to act as the electronic grating generator, which is a key hardware to the device. But there were some defects existed. For example, the size was too large for setting in the case of the device, and it could not be controlled by a single chip microprocessor conveniently, etc.. To solve these problems, a new grating generator was designed. The gratings were numbered and encoded in computer instructions, and then a complex programmable logic device (CPLD) chip was used to control a liquid crystal on silicon (LCOS) video chip, to write its data ports directly corresponding to the instructions. It has small size, simple interfaces, prompt response, clear instructions, and it worked well. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.4920

A New Adaptive Threshold Image-Denoising Method Based on Edge Detection

https://ijeecs.iaescore.com/index.php/IJEECS/article/view/3407
Binwen Huang , Yuan Jiao
In image processing, removal of noise without blurring the image edges is a difficult problem. Aiming at orthogonal wavelet transform and traditional threshold’s shortage, a new wavelet packet transform adaptive threshold image de-noising method which is based on edge detection is proposed. By edge detection method, the wavelet packet coefficients corresponding to edge which is detected and other non-edge wavelet packet coefficients are treated by different threshold. Using the relativity among wavelet packet coefficients and neighbor dependency relation, at the same time, adopting the new variance neighbor estimate method and then the adaptive threshold is produced. From the experiment result, we see that compared with traditional methods, this method can not only effectively eliminate noise, but can also well keep original image’s information and the quality after image de-noising is very well. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.3533

A Hybrid Clustering Algorithm Based on Improved Artificial Fish Swarm

https://ijeecs.iaescore.com/index.php/IJEECS/article/view/3442
Liwei Tian , Lin Tian
K-medoids clustering algorithm is used to classify data, but the approach is sensitive to the initial selection of the centers and the divided cluster quality is not high. Basic Artificial Fish Swarm Algorithm is a new type of heuristic swarm intelligence algorithm, but optimization is difficult to get a very high precision due to the randomness of the artificial fish behavior. A novel clustering method based on improved global artificial fish swarm is proposed in this paper by analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of two algorithms, which has the ability to optimize the global clustering effect. The result of the experiment shows that quality of clustering is improved; the optimal central points and the clear division of data groups are obtained by the mathematical model combing improved fish swarm algorithm and K-medoids algorithm. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.5110

Community Detection Based on Topic Distance in Social Tagging Networks

https://ijeecs.iaescore.com/index.php/IJEECS/article/view/3473
Hongtao Liu , Hui Chen , Mao Lin , Yu Wu
Research on the community detection in social tagging networks has attracted much attention in the last decade. Extracting the hidden topic information from tags provides a new way of thinking for community detection in social tagging networks. In this paper, a topic tagging network by extracting several topics from the tags through using the Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) model is built firstly. Then a topic distance between users is defined, which depends on the bookmarking relationships between users and tags. Further, a modularity clustering approach based on the topic distance is proposed to detect communities in social tagging networks. Empirical studies on real-world networks demonstrate that the proposed method can effectively detect communities in tagging networks. DOI ; http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.4170

A Coarse-to-Fine Human Body Segmentation Method in Video

https://ijeecs.iaescore.com/index.php/IJEECS/article/view/3409
Yingna Deng , Wenqing Wang
Human body precise segmentation is difficult because of inter-occlusion when there are multiple human bodies in video. A coarse-to-fine segmentation method is proposed. In coarse segmentation, human shape models are used to get human’s position and coarse region. The human models with variant scale and posture are constructed with head, torso, and legs. For each human body, its corresponding human shape model is obtained by model matching, and by which human position is obtained roughly. Human precise contour is obtained in fine segmentation by curve evolution with initial contour obtained from coarse segmentation. Experiment results show that the proposed method could segment human object precisely. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.3539
