10.11591/ijaas.v13.i4.pp961-973
Moussa Barry , Ahasanul Haque , Muhammad Tahir Jan
The progress of mobile technology has undergone substantial development in recent years, leading to the emergence of new and creative ideas. This paper investigates the factors influencing consumers' intentions to use mobile commerce in Malaysia. The DeLone and McLean updated information system success model served as the basis for this study's proposed model. A convenience sampling method was employed to collect 310 surveys from smartphone owners who conduct mobile commerce activities in Malaysia. A “two-stage structural equation modeling” (SEM) technique assessed the research model and the study's assumptions. The findings revealed that “information quality”, “service quality”, “system quality”, and “trust” significantly influence consumers' “intention to use mobile commerce in Malaysia”. The findings further reveal that “system quality” is the strongest factor influencing the “intention to use mobile commerce in Malaysia”. Therefore, the research outcomes will benefit academicians, researchers, policymakers, and practitioners in the mobile commerce industry in Malaysia. To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this is the first empirical study that expanded the “information system success model” by including “trust” in the context of Malaysian mobile commerce users’ “intentions”. However, further research is recommended to explore the factors influencing consumers' “intention to use mobile commerce in Malaysia”.

Abderrahim Bellekhiri , Noha Chahboun , Jamal Zbitou , Aziz Oukaira , Yassin Laaziz
In this paper, we designed, analyzed, and simulated a 32-element antenna array for the sub-6 GHz band. Each radiating element is a square patch on a Rogers RT5880 substrate, featuring a relative dielectric permittivity of 2.2, a low-loss tangent of 0.0009, and a thickness of 0.508 mm, measuring 28.1×28.1 mm². Simulations were conducted using two electromagnetic solvers, advanced design system (ADS) and CST Microwave Studio, providing a comprehensive comparison of the results. To achieve a high balance between performance and antenna size, two 4×8 array antenna structures were designed. The simulations demonstrated excellent input impedance matching around 3.5 GHz for both configurations, with high gains of 20.5 dBi for the first and 18 dBi for the second configuration, along with directional radiation patterns. The dimensions were 315×576×0.578 mm³ for the first configuration and 170×961×0.578 mm³ for the second. These performance metrics make the proposed antenna arrays highly suitable for wireless communication technologies operating below 6 GHz, particularly for 5G mobile communications.

The demand for energy on a global scale is continuously rising due to the expansion of energy infrastructure and the increasing number of new appliances. To address this growing need, an efficient energy management system (EMS) has become indispensable. By implementing EMS, both residential and commercial buildings can significantly improve their energy efficiency and consumption. One crucial aspect of enabling EMS to operate efficiently is load forecasting. The accuracy of load forecasting depends on numerous factors. A reliable load forecast model should consider the region’s weather forecast, as it plays a crucial role in developing an accurate prediction. This study is about the medium-term load forecasting (MTLF) for the Province of Taroudant, Morocco, using historical monthly load and weather data for five years (2018 to 2022). To forecast consumed energy three methods are used namely artificial neural network (ANN), fuzzy logic (FL) and adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS). This paper selects absolute percentage error (APE), mean absolute percentage error (MAPE), correlation coefficient (R) and root mean square error (RMSE) to compare and evaluate the prediction accuracy of models. It has been observed through results analysis that the ANFIS model produces very accurate forecasting prediction with MAPE of 4.75% while ANN and FL models give respectively MAPE of 7.36% and 8.42%.

Improving the risk profile of Indonesian enterprise taxpayers using multilabel classification

10.11591/ijai.v13.i4.pp4323-4333
Teguh Prasetyo , Budi Susetyo , Anang Kurnia
Optimizing tax revenues is difficult in Indonesia due to obstacles such as tax evasion and tax avoidance. It is closely related to an organization's compliance with tax regulations, known as the taxpayers risk profile. However, this mechanism does not accurately detect tax avoidance and tax evasion risks. To overcome this limitation, we use a multilabel classification machine learning method in this study, which classifies a single observation into one or more labels at once. The approach involves problem transformation (binary relevance and label powerset), algorithm adaptation (multilabel k-nearest neighbor (ML-kNN) and multilabel-adaptive resonance associative map (ML ARAM)), and ensemble (label space partitioning and random k-label sets with disjoint (RAkELd)). Based on the model performance comparisons, we discovered that the ML-ARAM method based on deep learning is the best, with an average F1-score of 95.5% and a hamming loss of 7.4%. We also examine the feature importance of the best model to reduce the dimensions of features so that we can identify the dominant factors that encourage a taxpayer entity to engage in tax avoidance or tax evasion. The findings of this study improve the accuracy of tax avoidance risk detection and tax evasion risk profiles using machine learning methods, ensuring maximum tax revenues in Indonesia.

This study explored the integration of blockchain and artificial intelligence technologies to enhance the security framework of electronic voting (e-voting) systems. Amid increasing vulnerabilities and cyber threats to electoral integrity, these technologies provided robust solutions by ensuring the immutability of voting records and enabling real-time anomaly detection. Blockchain technology secured votes in a decentralized, tamper-proof ledger, preventing unauthorized modifications, and enhancing transparency. Concurrently, artificial intelligence leveraged predictive analytics to dynamically monitor and respond to potential security threats, thereby ensuring the reliability and integrity of the voting process. This paper presented a dual-technology approach where blockchain’s transparency complemented artificial intelligence’s (AI) threat detection capabilities, providing a comprehensive security solution for e-voting systems. Through theoretical models and empirical data, we demonstrated significant improvements in transaction throughput, threat detection accuracy, and system scalability. The findings suggested that the strategic application of these technologies could substantially mitigate current e-voting vulnerabilities, offering a pathway to more secure, transparent, and efficient electoral processes globally.

The intercultural caring-coping patterns of disaster-displaced families in temporary shelters

10.11591/ijphs.v13i4.23909
Randy Ian Ferenal Gallego , Araceli Ocampo Balabagno
This integrative research review sought to explore the concepts of caring and coping in the context of the disaster-displacement phenomenon. It intended to describe and characterize the process of human flourishing amidst crisis through the caring and coping experiences of people living temporarily in emergency shelters after having been forcefully displaced following a devastating disaster event. This review adopted the 11-step method introduced by Tawfik and his colleagues in 2019. Three databases were utilized which included CINAHL, PubMed, and ProQuest. Papers needed to be published in English, with full-text availability for their inclusion. A total of 16 references met the inclusion criteria for the final review. To construct a logical and coherent integration of the important points, four categories of themes were developed: i) disaster impacts on daily life patterns and cultural lifeways; ii) caring patterns during disaster displacement; iii) coping patterns during disaster displacement; and iv) cultural learnings for disaster-based practitioners. It was noted that despite the challenges of crises, disaster victims often recover naturally and return to their previous levels of functioning. Resilient caring-coping mechanisms enable people to flourish in adversity, with culture and traditions playing a vital role in shaping their adjustment and adaptation to current circumstances.

Thalassemia is one of the most dangerous blood disorders that can lead to severe complications. It is an inherited disease, usually detected after a child is two to four years old. Identification of thalassemia is a complex task, involving many variables. Doctors generally diagnose thalassemia by using a complete blood count (CBC) and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) test results. However, HPLC tests are expensive and time consuming, hence the need for other methods to identify thalassemia. There are many studies on the application of artificial intelligence for medical applications. In this study, we developed a new fuzzy-based approach to identify thalassemia based on a patient’s blood laboratory results. First, we analyzed the CBC data for blood disorder prediction. Secondly, we adopt the test results of peripheral blood smear (PBS) to identify whether the person has thalassemia. We conducted several experiments using 30 (thirty) hospital patient data and the results were compared with the results provided by experts. The experimental results show that the system can determine blood disorders with 93% accuracy and 100% precision in thalassemia prediction. This system is very effective to help doctors in diagnosing thalassemia patients.

Long-term load forecasting (LTLF) is crucial for reliable electricity supply, infrastructure planning, and informed energy policies, ensuring grid stability and efficient resource allocation. Traditional methods, like statistical models and expert judgment, rely on historical data but may struggle with dynamic changes in technology, regulations, and consumer behavior. Addressing challenges such as economic uncertainties, seasonal variations, data quality, and integrating renewable energy requires advanced forecasting models and adaptive strategies. This research aims to develop an efficient LTLF model for the Coimbatore region in Tamil Nadu, India, using long short-term memory (LSTM) networks. While LSTM has limitations in capturing long- term dependencies and requires high data quality and complex management, optimizing hyperparameters, including through the opposition-based hunter- prey optimization (OHPO) technique, is explored to enhance its predictive performance. The results show that the proposed OHPO-configured LSTM model for LTLF achieves superior performance compared to other techniques, with a mean square error (MSE) of 0.25, root mean square error (RMSE) of 0.5 and mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) of 0.27. This research underscores the significance of improving LTLF precision for informed decision-making in infrastructure planning and energy policy formulation.

Kachane Sonklin , Chanipa Sonklin
The internet of things (IoT) and message queue telemetry transport (MQTT) play crucial roles in connecting sensor networks, data exchange among diverse devices, and enabling various smart systems. Several studies have been conducted on IoT-MQTT-based applications because of their ease of implementation and deployment. It also offers real-time and reliable communication between a publisher and a subscriber. However, there is a lack of comprehensive studies covering overall performance metrics. Therefore, this paper aims to develop a water level warning system prototype and evaluate its performance through simulation experiments, focusing on critical metrics, such as latency, throughput, packet loss rate (PLR), packet delivery ratio (PDR), and availability at various data transmission rates. The results demonstrate that the proposed system achieves significantly lower latency, compared to existing solutions and achieves up to 98% availability and reliability with minimal packet loss. The experimental findings also reveal that higher data transmission rates lead to higher throughput and latency performance with lower performance in terms of availability, PDR, and sensor accuracy.
