Cooperative and fresher encounter algorithm for reducing delay in MANET

10.11591/ijeecs.v14.i3.pp1258-1265
Noor Alleema , D. Siva Kumar
In Mobile Ad-hoc Networks (MANET), the route discovery is the chief problem for the nodes. In this paper Cooperative and Fresher Encounter Algorithm (CFEA) for Reducing Delay in MANET is proposed. The route discovery problem has been overcome by FResher Encounter algorithm. It is a simple algorithm for discovery the routes in efficient manner in the MANET. The node has the memory of past route details that communicate with remaining nodes. The node prefers to find the intermediate node instead of finding the destination node, that intermediate node keeps the knowledge of recently encounter the destination node. Then the intermediate node communicates with the node which is encountered the destination node recently, and the process is continued until the destination is attained. The main advantage of the scheme is reducing the process time.

Operating theatre is a place in a hospital where surgical operations are conducted on patients by surgeons. In the operating theatre, the surgical equipment is placed on stainless steel table or on surgical instrument tray. However, during the operation accidents can occur where the surgical tools placed near to the surgeon could be accidentally be hit by them during the surgical operation. This may cause the surgical tools to fall on the floor which may lead to injuries. Hence, this paper presents an automatic medical surgical trolley for surgeons to grab operating tools easily. The proposed system is implemented for automaticmedical surgical trolley movement using Arduino Uno R3. The invention provides an automatic medical surgical trolley which comprises automatic guidance, a wireless controller, an obstacle avoiding detection device, a touch screen controller via smart phone, an IP camera, a trolley, an integrated power supply and a processor. The trolley with stainless steel shelves is ideal for use in clinical environments and operation theatres. Medical equipment is loaded in the trolley, the wireless remote drives the trolley to move forwards and backwards. Automatic visual guidance is achieved via an IP camera attached to the trolley and a touch screen controller via a smart phone. A large amount of space and a large number of materials are saved, the workload of medical workers will be greatly relieved, and the working efficiency will be improved.

Solar cells are a major alternate source of sustainable energy in the usual condition of depleting non- renewable energy sources. Nowadays, this source is getting more and more important due to its use in large and small-scale installations. One of the major causes of energy losses in photovoltaic (PV) modules is the shading. It can happen due to clouds passing, near trees, and/or neighboring structures. Generally, there are two types of PV module Shading which are either partial shading or complete shading. Both have a significant impact on the solar module output power. This paper is an attempt of carrying out a study of the electrical characteristics of a solar module with various percentages of simulated shading. The solar module tester (SMT) simulator was used in this study. The study approved the direct correlation between short-circuit current and solar irradiance. The advantage of using SMT is its stable irradiance in comparison to the practical unstable solar irradiance within the same period. The results of both methods of shading simulation show that shading has a significant impact on the performance of solar panel in terms of efficiency, fill factor and output power. For better performance, solar panels should install in shading free places as much as its possible.

M. Z. Zulkifli , M. Azri , A. Alias , Md. H. N. Talib , J. M. Lazi
In this paper a buck-boost dc-dc converter for pv application is proposed, which is mainly composed of a buck – boost converter, PV panel, load and a battery. Existing dc-dc converter can convert the power from the PV panel, but unfortunately the PV panel can only provide power when there is a high intensity of light. In order to provide power supply to the load without any interruption, buck-boost dc-dc converter is introduced. The power intermittency issue of PV panel can be overcome with the aid of a secondary supply which is in this case, the batter. The integration system between the primary and the secondary supply is controlled by a simple proposed control scheme. Battery act as a power in the low voltage side while PV panel is taking over in the high voltage side. Buck-boost converter is operated either is buck or boost mode according to the performance of the PV panel. This paper is presented the simple control scheme to decide the mode suitable for the buck and boost mode. Various conditions are simulated to verify the working operation of the buck-boost converter and to representing solar panel in real life. Simulation and experimental are carried out to verify the system.

W. Ch Alisawi , Alaa Abdul AlMuhsen Hussain , Wasan A. Alawsi
A generalized model of information protection of a database management system is proposed, which can be used to implement database protection under any database management system. This model development methodology consists of four stages: requirements gathering, database analysis, “multi-level relational logical construction and a specific logical construction. The first three steps define actions for analyzing and developing a secure database, thus creating a generalized and secure database model”.

With the rapid growth of the Internet and mobile devices, the need for hidden communications has significantly increased. Steganography is a technique introduced for establishing hidden communication, Most steganography techniques have been applied to audio, images, videos, and text. Many researchers used steganography in Arabic texts to take advantage of adding, editing or changing letters or diacritics, but lead to notable and suspicious text. In this paper, we propose two novel steganography algorithms for Arabic text using the Holy Quran as cover text. The fact that it is forbidden to add, edit or change any letter or diacritics in the Holy Quran provides the valuable feature of its robustness and difficulty as a cover in steganography. The algorithms hide secret messages elements within Arabic letters benefiting from the existence of sun letters (Arabic: ḥurūf shamsīyah) and moon letters (ḥurūf qamarīyah). Also, we consider the existence of some Arabic language characteristics represented as small vowel letters (Arabic Diacritics). Our experiments using the proposed two algorithms demonstrate high capacity for text files. The proposed algorithms are robust against attack since the changes in the cover text are imperceptible, so our contribution offers a more secure algorithm that provides good capacity.

In this paper a hardware implementation of single-phase cascaded H-bridge three level multilevel inverter (MLI) using sinusoidal pulse width modulation (SPWM) is presented. There are a few interesting features of using this configuration, where less component count, less switching losses, and improved output voltage/current waveform. The output of power inverter consists of three form, that is, square wave, modified square wave and pure sine wave. The pure sine wave and modified square wave are more expensive than square wave. The focus paper is to generate a PWM signal which control the switching of MOSFET power semiconductor. The sine wave can be created by using the concept of Schmitt-Trigger oscillator and low-pass filter topology followed by half of the waveform will be eliminated by using the circuit of precision half-wave rectifier. Waveform was inverted with 180º by circuit of inverting op-amp amplifier in order to compare saw-tooth waveform. Two of PWM signal were produced by circuit of PWM and used digital inverter to invert the two PWM signal before this PWM signal will be passed to 2 MOSFET driver and a 3-level output waveform with 45 Hz was produced. As a conclusion, a 3-level output waveform is produced with output voltage and current recorded at 22.5 Vrms and 4.5 Arms. The value of measured resistance is 0.015 Ω that cause voltage drop around 0.043 V. Based on the result obtained, the power for designed inverter is around 100W and efficiency recorded at 75%.

Opinion Mining also known as Sentiment Analysis, is a technique or procedure which uses Natural Language processing (NLP) to classify the outcome from text. There are various NLP tools available which are used for processing text data. Multiple research have been done in opinion mining for online blogs, Twitter, Facebook etc. This paper proposes a new opinion mining technique using Support Vector Machine (SVM) and NLP tools on newspaper headlines. Relative words are generated using Stanford CoreNLP, which is passed to SVM using count vectorizer. On comparing three models using confusion matrix, results indicate that Tf-idf and Linear SVM provides better accuracy for smaller dataset. While for larger dataset, SGD and linear SVM model outperform other models.

E. Catherine Amala Priya , G. T. Sundar Rajan
A Hybrid multi converter topology is proposed in this paper, which supplies simultaneous voltage’s for various levels from Renewable energy source. The proposed topology is realized by replacing Multi cuk- buck converter topology. The resultant hybrid multi converter requires less number of switches to operate, as well as various output voltages of different levels without interruption with increased stability. This type of hybrid multi converter with high reliability and high stability are well implemented for loads utilizing various levels of DC voltage. Converter, proposed in this paper is called Hybrid Multi converter topology (HMCT). A study is made on the steady state of the HMCT and a comparative study has been made with the conventional designs. A PI controller based feedback controller is designed to stabilize the various output voltages. A simulated model for the proposed HMCT is used to simulate various output voltages of dissimilar values from mono DC- input. The performance of the converter is demonstrated using simulation model. The proposed design can be protracted to voltage source inverter, multilevel inverter to produce AC output.

Frequency regulation of modern power system using novel hybrid DE-DA algorithm

10.11591/ijaas.v8.i2.pp103-116
Sayantan Sinha , Ranjan Kumar Mallick
An attempt has been made to regulate the frequency of an interconnected  modern power system using automatic generation control under a restructured market scenario. The system model considered consists of a thermal generation plant coupled with a gas turbine plant in both areas. The presence of deregulated market scenario in an interconnected power system makes it too vulnerable to small load disturbance giving rise to frequency and tie line power imbalances. An attempt has been made to introduce a novel Tilted Integral derivative controller to minimize the frequency and tie line power deviations and restrict them to scheduled values. A maiden attempt has been made to tune the controller gains with the help of a novel hybrid optimization scheme which includes the amalgamation of the exploitative nature of the Differential evolution technique and the explorative attributes of the Dragonfly Algorithm. This hybrid technique is therefore coined as Differential evolution- dragonfly algorithm (DE-DA) technique. Use of some standard benchmark fucntions are made to prove the efficacy of the proposed scheme in tunig the controller gains. The supremacy of the proposed TID controller is examined under two individual market scenarios and under the effect of a step load disturbance. The robustness of the controller in minimizing frequency deviations in the systems is broadly showcased. The superiority of the controller is also proved by comparing it with pre published results.

An approximation delay between consecutive requests for congestion control in unicast CoAP-based group communication

10.11591/ijece.v9i3.pp1997-2005
Chanwit Suwannapong , Chatchai Khunboa
This research presents a way to avoid network congestion during unicast CoAP-based group communication using increased delays between consecutive requests (DCR) in LoWPAN border routers to limit request send rates. It also provides a way to determine DCR values that are suitable for various network group sizes with differing node counts. The optimal DCR is obtained using the least squares approximation method and the relative minimum. Results from experimentation shows a positive relation, that is, an increase in group size necessitates an increase in DCR value. Experiments in various group sizes show favorable network performance and support the proposed congestion control method using DCR.

This paper presents performance analysis of Unified Power Quality Conditioner-Battery Energy Storage (UPQC-BES) system supplied by Photovoltaic (PV)-Wind Hybrid connected to three phase three wire (3P3W) of 380 volt (L-L) and 50 hertz distribution system. The performance of supply system is compared with two renewable energy (RE) sources i.e. PV and Wind, respectively. Fuzzy Logic Controller (FLC) is implemented to maintain DC voltage across the capacitor under disturbance scenarios of source and load as well as to compare the results with Proportional Intergral (PI) controller. There are six scenarios of disturbance i.e. (1) non-linear load (NL), (2) unbalance and nonlinear load (Unba-NL), (3) distortion supply and non-linear load (Dis-NL), (4) sag and non-linear load (Sag-NL), (5) swell and non-linear load (Swell-NL), and (6) interruption and non-linear load (Inter-NL). In disturbance scenario 1 to 5, implementation of FLC on UPQC-BES system supplied by three RE sources is able to obtain average THD of load voltage/source current slightly better than PI. Furthermore under scenario 6, FLC applied on UPQC-BES system supplied by three RE sources gives significantly better result of average THD of load voltage/source current than PI. This research is simulated using Matlab/Simulink.
