An Efficient Dynamic Authentication Scheme for Secure Network Coding

https://ijeecs.iaescore.com/index.php/IJEECS/article/view/2246
Ming He , Hong Wang , Lin Chen , Zhenghu Gong , Fan Dai
Network coding based applications are notoriously susceptible to malicious pollution attacks. Packets authentication schemes have been well-recognized as the most effective approach to address this security threat. However, existing packets authentication schemes for network coding either incur high computation overhead, or are vulnerable to arbitrary collusion among attackers. In this paper, we proposed a novel dynamic authentication scheme for secure network coding by dynamically using the linear vector subspaces of network coding. The scheme can efficiently detect packets generated by pollution attackers, and effectively resist arbitrary collusion among attackers. Our work is an innovative dynamic solution to frustrate pollution attacks with arbitrary collusion among attackers, and authentication cost can be further reduced by employing batch authentication in participating nodes. In addition, our scheme provides an efficient packet authentication without requiring the existence of any extra secure channel. Security analysis and simulations results demonstrate the practicality and efficiency of our scheme. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i5.2470

The evolution wireless technologies are growing rapidly in upcoming years. It is expected that many users will shift to more advanced devices that will contribute to gain higher demand in wireless spectrum. However, the capacity for the allocation frequency in the wireless spectrum is typically limited in wireless data transmission. Therefore, when the loads of wireless users in the wireless communications are increasing, the need of cache mechanisms such as Web caches or Web servers are crucial. The scalability demands on internet infrastructure keep increasing as the internet continues to grow in popularity and size. Therefore, the existence and development in Web caching technologies will contribute to bandwidth savings, network latency reduction, improve content availability and subsequently server load balancing. This paper will studies and investigates the cache performance in wireless spectrum with the purpose of dealing with the data growth since the spectrum crisis becomes a serious matter lately. The performance improvement will be observed using caching scheme which allows for time shifting and load shifting in accessing the wireless data with the better cache deployment in the network system. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i5.2506

Main Player in Industrial Carbon Emissions in China

https://ijeecs.iaescore.com/index.php/IJEECS/article/view/2260
Liu Zhenling
The carbon emissionshas attracts great concerns in engineering technology researches. The decomposition analysis technology has been popular in the study on influencing factors of industrial carbon emissions(ICE). The change of industries’s CO2 emissions from the three main industries in China over the period 1980-2011 based on the logarithmic mean divisia index (LMDI) method has been carried out. The research indicated that economic activity effect was the main influence factor for ICE increase in China over the entire period; the decline in energy intensity and the adjustment of energy and change in the CO2 emission coefficient were major determinants for reduction of ICE. Meanwhile, we found that China had made a significant contribution to reducing global CO2 emissions by decreasing its energy intensity. Based on the fore study, the mechanism of CO2 emission changes has been analyzed and the pressure-driven environment protection model has been put forward. http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i5.2484

Both of berth allocation and quay crane assignment are one of the most complex parts in container terminal operations, which significantly affect the operational efficiency, energy consumption and operational cost of the entire container terminal. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an efficient strategy for integrated berth allocation and quay crane assignment (BACP) from the perspective of knowledge, which aims at energy-saving and improving operational efficiency. In this paper, knowledge acquisition for BACP is initially conducted. And then, knowledge sorting process for BACP, including taxonomic tree generation and organization of acquired knowledge, is performed. After that, rules for BACP are extracted using the IF and THEN clause. Furthermore, a knowledge reasoning mechanism is designed. Finally, numerical experiments are used to illustrate the proposed knowledge-based system and verify the effectiveness and reliability. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i5.2452

Jian Gao , Xiangping Zeng , Xu Zhang , Xin Chen , Detao Zheng
Restroration of worn parts is a key technique in remanufacturing engineering. It is also a popular research topic in the domain of sustainable manufacturing. To tackle the difficult problem of obtaining a reference model for repair of worn parts, this paper proposed a novel approach to regenerate the vertices over the worn cavity. After a brief description of the repair process, this paper focuses on the optimal energy model establishment. Based on the energy model the vertices of the worn cavity can be regenerated. Error calculation of the vertices recreated to the original model is proposed to search the shortest distance. These algorithms proposed were implemented in the repair system through Visual C++6.0. Several examples of worn parts are presented to illustrate the feasibility of the method. The testing result shows that the vertex regenerated through the optimal energy model can satisfy the requirement of accurate geometry regeneration for repair of worn parts. Finally, conclusions are drawn and further research work is discussed. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i5.2479

Yang Tianxu , Wang jianwei , Hu Xiaoguang
High voltage circuit breakers play an important role in the power system. So it is necessary to implement the state detection of breakers in order to ensure stable and reliable running of the grid. The purpose of state detection is to provide reliable basis of maintenance by extracting mechanical state parameters accurately. This paper mainly focuses on the coil current signal feature extraction algorithm. To settle the problem of too much noise mixed with the current signal and signal distortion, the discrete wavelet transform algorithm is used to extract the coil current signal parameters. This paper also designs the FIR filter to extract stroke and speed parameters from travel-time waveform. The experiments show that the difference between the theoretical results and test results processed by the method in this paper is very small and the test results are able to accurately reflect operation states and mechanical features of high voltage circuit breakers. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i5.2550

A DC Error Self-Correcting Circuit for the Capacitive Micromachined Gyroscope

https://ijeecs.iaescore.com/index.php/IJEECS/article/view/2287
Bing Mo , Jun Cai , Chaodong Ling
Micromachined gyroscope always contains two groups of capacitors, one is the driving capacitor, which is used to drive the micromachined gyroscope, to make sure the gyroscope could oscillate along the driving direction. The other is so called the sensing capacitor, which used to detect the displacement along the sensing direction, in order to detect the input angle velocity. Since there are some imperfections during the machining process, the static value of the driving capacitor and sensing capacitor always have some variations. These variations would cause some bad effects in the integrated circuit. In this paper, the variations of driving capacitor and sensing capacitor are analyzed based on the principle of integrated circuit. It is shown that the effect caused by driving capacitor variation would be cancelled in the signal processing, but the driving capacitor variation could cause a DC error signal at the output node of the first LPF in the integrated circuit. This DC error would distort the desired signal at the output node of the amplitude amplifier. So that a DC error self-correcting circuit is designed, both the simulation results and the testing results show that DC error could be self-corrected by this additional circuit. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i5.2513

The Research of Digital Algorithm Based on Frequency-Dependent Transmission Lines

https://ijeecs.iaescore.com/index.php/IJEECS/article/view/2266
Yongqing Liu , Baina He , Yunwei Zhao , Hengxu Ha , Xinhui Zhang
The algorithm for obtaining the discrete response of popagation function for frequency dependent parameter line is presented. Consider a minimum sampling period Tsm, that is, the highest frequency fH=1/(2Tsm) in the signal is taken into account. The impedance z(w) and the admittance y(w) are obtained in the frequency range of [0,fH] by employing the Carson’s formula. The propagation function at each frequency point is subsequently obtained, the impulse response in discrete time domain is then obtained using Poision Sum Formula. In order to avoid the long length of impulse reponse under the higher sampling frequency, the poles and zeros of z transform of discrete propagation function are evaluated by the Prony’s method. Subsequently, the coeffcients of the discrete infinite impulse response of propagation function are obtained. Using these coefficients the wave transfer sources can be easily computed by discrete convolution operation. The simulation tests show that the results using the propsed method is accurate, the error is not more than 1% in contrast of the results generated by EMTP. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i5.2491

Low Cost Quasi Binary Weighting Addition Log-SPA LDPC Decoders

https://ijeecs.iaescore.com/index.php/IJEECS/article/view/2280
Po-Hui Yang , Ming-Yu Lin
This paper proposes a new addition method, which can be applied to reduce the hardware cost of LDPC decoders using log-SPA, which traditionally has the best lowest bit error rate (BER) but the highest hardware requirement. The proposed quasi-binary weighting addition can be simply implemented by OR gates. With auxiliary pseudo-carry circuit, the BER performance can reach a fair level. In the log-SPA message-passing path, numeric transform reduction architecture is proposed for further hardware reduction. Synthesized and numerical results show that the new proposed architecture achieved an up to 32% and 18% total hardware reduction, compared with traditional log-SPA decoders, and the simplest sign-min architecture, respectively, with fair BER performance. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i5.2505
