Infected COVID-19 patients, especially after March 11, 2020, grew drastically in Oman. Hence, a variety of measures were issued to restrict all social gatherings, commercial activities, and mandating preventative health practices. This study aimed to i) understand distribution patterns and impact of decisions and responses at the spread of confirmed cases; ii) highlight and verify most concentrated regions with infections; and iii) overview spatial changes of cases overtime. The analysis was carried out using inverse–distance-weighted interpolation and hotspot (Getis–Ord GI*) techniques. Results showed a substantial relationship between spatial structure of COVID–19 and population distribution and density. COVID–19 has increased by 11.5% weekly in the capital, which were locked down since April 2020. However, after health quarantine was lifted on May 29, 2020, weekly cases surged in the capital. Al-Batinah-North and Dhofar recorded an increase of 32.1% and 30.5%, respectively, after restrictions had eased. The analysis illustrated that spread of COVID–19 was shifting from Northeast to Southeast and later shifted back to the Northeast of the country at the end of year 2022. This study is beneficial for pertinent organizations to perform detailed studies for developing and monitoring disease systems and dominating relevant factors.

Trang Hoang , Anh Nam Ha
This study presents an advanced design for a high-speed receiver tailored for the MIPI D-PHY Interface, capable of handling data rates up to 7.2 Gbps per lane. The design is developed using 18 nm fin field-effect transistor (FinFET) technology and is rigorously simulated under varying process, voltage, and temperature conditions (PVTs) to ensure robustness. The architecture of the receiver integrates several key components: differential pair sensing, a folded cascode continuous time linear equalization (CTLE), a single-ended operational amplifier, and a cross-coupled stage. Operating at a supply voltage of 0.72 V in the worst-case scenario, our CTLE achieves a peaking gain of 17.77 dB at 4.26 GHz. The design demonstrates a maximum jitter of 19.63 ps at an offset voltage of ±2 mV. Notably, the power efficiency of our receiver is optimized to 0.85 mW/Gb/s, totaling 6.1 mW, with dual supply voltages of 1.98 and 0.88 V. This work contributes to the field by offering a highly efficient solution for fast data transmission with reduced power consumption and enhanced signal integrity.

Ensemble learning stands out as a widely embraced technique in machine learning. This research explores the application of ensemble learning, including ensemble clustering, to enhance the precision of cluster analysis for datasets with multiple attributes and unclear correlations. Employing a majority voting-based ensemble clustering approach, specific techniques such as k-means clustering, affinity propagation, mean shift, BIRCH clustering, and others are applied to defined datasets, leading to improved clustering results. The study involves a comprehensive comparative analysis, contrasting ensemble clustering outcomes with those of individual techniques. The process of improving cluster identification accuracy encompasses data collection, pre-processing to exclude irrelevant elements, and the application of standard clustering algorithms. The task includes defining the optimal number of groups before comparing clustering models. Additionally, a combined model is constructed by merging BIRCH clustering and mean shift clustering, leveraging their advantages to enhance overall clustering strength and accuracy. This research contributes to advancing ensemble learning and ensemble clustering methodologies, offering improved accuracy, and uncovering hidden patterns in complex datasets.

Wind energy is being integrated into the grid as a renewable energy source to meet the world's electricity needs. Grid-connected wind turbines are often disrupted by grid fault problems. Fault ride-through (FRT) ability has become the most important grid connection necessity for wind energy conversion systems (WECS). In the event of a voltage dip fault, the low voltage ride-through (LVRT) capacity is an imperative key to successful grid integration. This paper proposes a dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) controlled through an artificial neural network (ANN) to improve the LVRT capability of a grid-connected wind turbine (WT) based permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG). The DVR injects series voltage into the system through a series-connected transformer. The DVR can then restore the voltage to the pre-fault value. The injection transformer is connected to the line linking the PMSG-based wind turbine output to the utility grid. Design and simulation of the low voltage ride-through applied to symmetrical and asymmetrical fault conditions were performed in MATLAB/Simulink software. Simulation results approve that the performance of the technique fully demonstrates its effectiveness and practicality.

Accurate forecasting of global horizontal irradiance (GHI) is critical for optimizing solar power plant (SPP) output, particularly in tropical locales where solar potential is high yet underutilized due to forecasting challenges. This research aims to enhance GHI prediction in one of the major cities of Indonesia, where existing models struggle with the area’s natural climate unpredictability. Our analysis harnesses a decade of data 2011-2020, including GHI, temperature, and the Sky Insolation Clearness Index, to calibrate and compare these methodologies. We evaluate and contrast the exponential smoothing method versus the more complicated artificial neural network (ANN). Our findings reveal that the ANN method, notably its fourth iteration model with 12 input and hidden layers, substantially outperforms exponential smoothing with a low error rate of 1.12%. The use of these methodologies forecasts an average energy output of 252,405 Watt for a solar panel with specification 15.3% efficiency and 1.31 m2 surface area throughout the 2021 to 2025 timeframe. The work offers the ANN method as a strong prediction tool for SPP development and urges a further exploration into more advanced forecasting methodologies to better harness solar energy.

The rate of population growth in Sukabumi Regency continues to grow, along with the increasing need for food. This population growth, combined with the constant changes in land cover can reduce the productivity of environment in providing natural capital for food availability. Therefore, this study aimed to examine the condition of ecosystem service provision for a decade in Sukabumi Regency due to changes in land cover. In general, the efficient use of remote sensing method and geographic information systems to monitor ecosystem services had received widespread recognition. Following this scenario, the current study used geospatial analysis with dasymetric method which was integrated with supply and demand formulas for ecosystem services provision, food availability, and remote sensing. Geographic information system was also used for land cover interpretation data. The results showed that three districts in Sukabumi Regency, namely Cicurug, Cibadak, and Cicantayan, had “exceeded” condition when the environmental condition already passed the threshold or were unable to support population's needs. Meanwhile, the other districts have “not exceeded” condition, when the environmental conditions were still able to fulfill the needs of population. Finally, the changes in agricultural land cover had a significant influence on the condition of ecosystem services.

This study investigates the acceptance of camera simulator technology as a learning media by Indonesian vocational high school (VHS) students and examines the relationships among influencing factors. It proposes an acceptance model integrating the technology acceptance model (TAM) 3 and the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT). Ten factors impacting technology acceptance were identified, resulting in the formulation of 15 hypotheses regarding inter-construct relationships. In this empirical study, a quantitative approach was employed, distributing questionnaires to 200 students at Public Vocational High School 10 in Bandung, specializing in broadcasting and filmmaking programs. After analyzing 145 valid responses, the study progressed in two stages: the measurement model and the structural model. The evaluation of the measurement model confirmed the validity of all indicators and constructs, ensuring compliance with the established standards. In the structural model evaluation, one construct (computer anxiety) and four inter-construct relationships were excluded. This research enhances our understanding of factors influencing camera simulator technology acceptance among VHS students in Indonesia, shedding light on the complexities of their decision-making process in adopting this educational tool.

In response to the increasing demand for an intelligent system to avoid abnormal events, many models for detecting and locating anomalous behaviors in surveillance videos have been proposed. Nevertheless, significant flaws of inadequate discriminating ability are present in the majority of these models. A novel newton form and monotonic function based deep bidirectional long short-term memory (NFMF-DBiLSTM) human anomaly recognition system was discussed in this paper to tackle those issues. Initially, videos are transformed into frames; after that, the duplicate frames are removed, and by utilizing the shannon entropy centered contrast limited adaptive histogram equalization (SE-CLAHE) algorithm, the contrast has been elevated. By using the probabilistic matrix factorization kernel density estimation (PMF-KDE) technique, the background is subtracted after estimating only the motion of the object. After this, the silhouette function is performed utilizing the dirac depth silhouette function (DDSF). In addition, clustering is done by sorting and average-based K-means (SA-KM). The features are extracted from the suspected human and are then chosen by utilizing Poisson Eurasian oystercatcher optimization (PEOO). For classifying normal or anomaly, the selected features are subjected directly into the NFMF-DBiLSTM. When contrasted with the prevailing methodologies, the proposed model is found to be more efficient.

Alfin Sahrin , Imam Abadi , Ali Musyafa
Installing rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) with an on-grid system benefits consumers because it can reduce imports of electrical energy from the grid. This study aims to model the estimation of energy imports generated from on-grid rooftop solar PV systems. This estimation model was carried out in 20 provincial capitals in Indonesia. The parameters used are weather conditions, orientation angle, and energy generated from the on-grid rooftop solar PV system. The value of imported energy is divided into three combinations based on the azimuth angle direction, which describes the type and shape of the roof of the building (one-direction, two-directions, and three-directions). Modeling was done using machine learning with neural network (NN), linear regression, and support vector machine. A comparison of the machine learning algorithm results is NN produces the smallest root mean square error (RMSE) value of the three. Model enhancement uses a grid search cross-validation (GSCV) to become the GSCV-NN model. The RMSE results were enhanced from 53.184 to 44.389 in the one-direction combination, 145.562 to 141.286 in the two-direction combination, and 81.442 to 76.313 in the three-direction combination. The imported energy estimation model on the on-grid rooftop solar PV system with GSCV-NN produces a more optimal and accurate model.

10.11591/ijere.v13i5.29296
Bistari Bistari , Hamdani Hamdani , Rustam Rustam , Tarina Dashela , Nadia Wardah Mumtazah , Veven Veven
So far, mathematics learning has only focused on a curriculum that prioritizes outcomes over processes, so attitudes are rarely the target of learning. In fact, a positive attitude, especially self-regulated and creativity, is needed in learning mathematics and must have been formed since elementary school. This research, with the aim of describing efforts to establish independence and creativity in learning mathematics by elementary school teachers in West Kalimantan, uses a qualitative descriptive method with a questionnaire as a research instrument. The results of the study show that: (i) the formation of self-regulated learning by the teacher is very good, especially in the indicators of disciplined behavior. However, it needs to be improved on indicators of behaving based on one's own initiative; and (ii) the formation of learning creativity by the teacher is very good, especially on the indicator of having a great curiosity. However, it needs to be improved on indicators of diligent behavior and not getting bored easily.
