Surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensors are proficient at detecting minute changes in refractive index, making them ideal for biomolecule detection. Traditional prism-based SPR sensors encounter miniaturization challenges, encouraging exploration of alternatives like fiber optic-based SPR (FO-SPR) sensors. This study comprehensively investigates the effects of material and geometrical parameters on the performance of single-mode FO-SPR sensors using Maxwell's equation solver software based on the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method. The findings highlight the influence of plasmonic thin film materials and thickness on SPR spectrum profiles and sensitivity. Silver (Ag) demonstrates superior performance compared to copper (Cu) and gold (Au) in transmission type, achieving a sensitivity of up to 2×103 nm/RIU, while the sensitivities of Cu and Au are lower. Probe length and core diameter impact spectrum profiles, specifically resonance depth, without affecting sensitivity. Furthermore, variations in core refractive index influence both spectrum profiles and sensitivity. Probe types significantly affect both spectrum profiles and sensitivity, with the reflection type surpassing the transmission type. These results provide suggestions for optimizing FO-SPR sensors in biotechnological applications.

This study investigates the acceptance of camera simulator technology as a learning media by Indonesian vocational high school (VHS) students and examines the relationships among influencing factors. It proposes an acceptance model integrating the technology acceptance model (TAM) 3 and the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT). Ten factors impacting technology acceptance were identified, resulting in the formulation of 15 hypotheses regarding inter-construct relationships. In this empirical study, a quantitative approach was employed, distributing questionnaires to 200 students at Public Vocational High School 10 in Bandung, specializing in broadcasting and filmmaking programs. After analyzing 145 valid responses, the study progressed in two stages: the measurement model and the structural model. The evaluation of the measurement model confirmed the validity of all indicators and constructs, ensuring compliance with the established standards. In the structural model evaluation, one construct (computer anxiety) and four inter-construct relationships were excluded. This research enhances our understanding of factors influencing camera simulator technology acceptance among VHS students in Indonesia, shedding light on the complexities of their decision-making process in adopting this educational tool.

Product innovation and service improvement have become essential or crucial for organisations, including public service organisations. The Indonesia Immigration Directorate released the m-passport application to enhance its quality of service. The m-passport application is considered good as it has been downloaded over a million times. Like immigration officers, this application seems to be at the forefront, reflecting an increasingly better service. However, there was still a need for significant improvement in the application. Improvements can be made to the application by considering user feedback or reviews. Reviews provided by users, approximately 12K, will serve as input for improving or enhancing the application. This was made possible as users interacti directly with the application. The most common issues are one-time password or OTP verification code with a probability value of 0.044, errors when logging in with a probability value of 0.283, and slow response applications with a probability value of 0.125.

Sapna Renukaradhya , Sheshappa S. Narayanappa
Herbal leaves, known for their efficacy in treating a range of infectious diseases including cancer, asthma, and heart conditions, are still widely used by medical professionals. Traditionally, villagers have identified these plants visually, but given the similarity in appearance among various species, this method is prone to human error. Accurate identification of these plant species is critical for effective treatment. Hence, the development of an intelligent plant classification system is crucial to reduce the risk of misidentification and enhance treatment accuracy. This paper introduces the deep HybridNet with hybrid optimization module (DeepHybrid-OptNet) a novel deep learning framework for medicinal plant identification and classification. Merging convolutional and recurrent neural network architectures, deep HybridNet excels in extracting complex botanical features through channel-wise feature extraction modules in convolutional neural network (CNN) and feedback loop in recurrent neural network (RNN). The incorporation of a DeepHybrid-OptNet module enhances the model's learning efficiency and accuracy. Empirical results on the Mendley and folio dataset demonstrate the framework's superiority over existing methods in accuracy, precision, and recall making it a valuable asset for botany and herbal medicine research.

Object recognition and detection is an area of study, within intelligence and computer vision. It finds applications in fields such as surveillance, detailed activity analysis, robotics and object tracking. The primary focus of research papers in this domain revolves around enhancing the precision of object identification and detection regardless of whether the objects are located indoors or outdoors. To address this challenge, a new approach involving the utilization of SIFT features for information extraction has been proposed. Our approach encompasses two components; the implementation of dimensionality reduction through principal component analysis (PCA) to eliminate redundancies; secondly the incorporation of feature vector encoding using fisher encoding techniques. The RGB-D dataset employed contains 300 objects across scenarios with emphasis on colored aspects rather than depth. The SIFT features are categorized using a support vector machine (SVM) into 7 classes. When compared to using SIFT features integrating them with encoding methods notably enhances recall, precision and F1-score by than 30% through fisher encoding and PCA techniques. The study concludes with an evaluation based on n-cross validation methodology along, with detailed experimental results.

This paper comprehensively investigates the performance characteristics of a long-stroke electromagnetic double-reel hammer compared to a conventional hammer. Quantitative analysis indicates that the long-stroke hammer shows a significant increase in striker speed and impact energy. The impact energy has increased by 255%, and energy losses in copper windings have decreased by 124% per operating cycle. Additionally, the long-stroke hammer demonstrates a 105% reduction in energy consumption and a 52% improvement in overall efficiency per cycle compared to the conventional hammer. This study examines the operational characteristics of the long-stroke hammer throughout its cycle using field theory methods, MATLAB simulations, and experimental tests. Results indicate higher impact energy and speed, lower energy losses in copper windings, and higher efficiency per cycle for the long-stroke hammer. Furthermore, a mathematical model of the long-stroke hammer is developed, incorporating static parameters and oscillograms of striker movement and current flow. A comprehensive comparison of the performance indicators of both hammers reveals significant improvements in lifting height, cycle duration, impact frequency, and striker speed for the long-stroke hammer. Overall, these findings suggest that the long-stroke operating mode can significantly enhance the efficiency and performance of conventional hammers while simultaneously reducing impact frequency and machine heating.
