Ali Mohsen Alsabari , M. K Hassan , Azura CS , Ribhan Zafira
The modelling of the supercapacitor (SC) plays an important role for the industrial application with many model representations such as electrical, chemical, and electrochemical models. Among one of those models are the equivalent circuit model which has been used to describe the real-time (charging/discharging) operation characteristics of the SC. Apart of its mathematical complexity, the time-consuming experimentally is also a real challenge for obtaining the internal parameters values for the SC. Choices of test equipment with a structure design of experiment also play important criteria affect the accuracy of the model. This research emphasis on a structured of experimental design for SC modelling by using Neware battery tester. The experimental exercise to attain internal parameters of the SC are described and discussed in the paper. The findings were benchmarked with an empirical model of previous researchers. The terminal voltage of SC was validated via experiment with maximum relative error of 0.045%. The model successfully reproduce the SC dynamic behavior during the charge/discharge phase which indicates the proposed method and model accuracy.

As a hopeful computing paradigm, cloud services are obtainable to end users based on pay-as-you-go service. Security is represented one of the vital issues for the extended adoption of cloud computing, with the object of accessing several cloud service providers, applications, and services by using anonymity features to authenticate the user. We present a good authentication scheme based on quick response (QR) code and smart card. Furthermore, our proposed scheme has several crucial merits such as key management, mutual authentication, one-time password, user anonymity, freely chosen password, secure password changes, and revocation by using QR code. The security of proposed scheme depends on crypto-hash function, QR-code validation, and smart card. Moreover, we view that our proposed scheme can resist numerous malicious attacks and are more appropriate for practical applications than other previous works. The proposed scheme has proved as a strong mutual authentication based on burrows-abadi-needham (BAN) logic and security analysis. Furthermore, our proposed scheme has good results compared with related work.

10.11591/ijeecs.v23.i1.pp32-40
M Krishna Goriparthy , B Geetha Lakshmi
The integration of renewable energy systems is enhancing in daily life for supplying the global demand for electric energy. The concerning problem with the integration of such distributed generation (DG) is islanding. It may damage the consumers and equipment. As per the IEEE 1547 DG integration specifications it must be identified in 2 seconds. In this article a novel passive recognition approach occupying on the rate of change of phase angle between positive sequence voltage and current is (RCPABPSVAC) is proposed. The existing passive methods failed to detect balanced and low power mismatch islanding cases. The suggested approach can do it and strongly classifies the non islanding situations with the islanding situations. The simulations are implemented in MATLAB/Simulink environment.

OWC systems have turned into a state-of-the-art technology because of their superior performance uniqueness and its innumerable characteristic as compared to its RF. One of the OWC application is inter-satellite wireless optical communication (Is-WOC), this framework can be improved by using different ways such as advanced modulation formats and aperture diameter. We demonstrate an analysis based on the aperture diameter effect in transmission of single channel with 40 Gb/s Is-WOC system using three different modulation methods, differential phase-shift keying (DPSK) with a duty ratio to 66% and 33% and duobinary. Choosing these three modulations from various modulation format is done depending on the advantage they provide where the DPSK gives to fiber nonlinearity a powerful robustness and less susceptible to SPM and XPM and for system requirements of dispersion compensation in duobinary, it provides higher chromatic dispersion tolerance mitigate. The result shows the effect of different transmitter aperture diameter (from 2 to 20 cm) for a constant distance 200 km accomplished by quality factor and minimum BER. We conclude there is a great loss in the small aperture diameter, even in the presence of best modulation format, therefore as the aperture diameter increase the Q-factor increase, but some increased rise is linear and the other is changing from linear to non-linear in a fixed Q-factor point equal to 5.63.

10.11591/ijeecs.v23.i1.pp529-539
Mafaz Alanezi , Iman Subhi Mohammed Altaay , Saja Younis Hamid Malla'aloo
Information security is one of the most significant processes that must be taken into account when confidentially transferring information. This paper introduces a steganography technique using the edge detection method. It focused on three basic and important aspects’ payload, quality and security. Well-known edge detectors were used to generate as many edge pixels as possible to hide data and achieve the highest payload. The least significant bit (LSB) algorithm has been improved by extending the bits used to embed between 2-4 bits in smooth and sharp areas. To increase security, the transaction between the two parties is based on dividing the key and the cover image into several parts and agreeing on the type of edge detection. The experiments achieved the maximum load, for instance with a fuzzy edge detector, at first, embedding in 4 bitplanes if edge pixel and in 2 bitplanes if non-edge pixel, the peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) increased from 43.580to 45.790. At second, embedding in 2 bitplanes if edge pixel, and in 4 bitplanes if non-edge pixel, the PSNR decreased between 38.433-41.593. The suggested scheme achieved a high pay load to embed in the cover image and according to human perception, it preserved the nature of the original image.

In this paper, the modified Adomian decomposition method (MADM) is usedto solve different types of differential equations, one of the numerical analysis methods for solving non linear partial differential equations (Drinfeld–Sokolov–Wilson system) and short (DSWS) that occur in shallow water flows. A Genetic Algorithm was used to find the optimal value for the parameter (a). We numerically solved the system (DSWS) and compared the result to the exact solution. When the value of it is low and close to zero, the MADM provides an excellent approximation to the exact solution. As well as the lower value of leads to the numerical algorithm of (MADM) approaching the real solution. Finally, found the optimal value when a=-10 by using the Genetic Algorithm (G-MADM). All the computations were carried out with the aid of Maple 18 and Matlab to find the parameter value (a) by using the genetic algorithm as well as to figures drawing. The errors in this paper resulted from cut errors and mean square errors.

Air pollution has become an issue at all rates in the world. In Malaysia, there is a system is known as air quality index (API) used to indicate the overall air quality in the country where the air pollutants include or the new ambient air quality standard are sulphur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), carbon monoxide (CO), ozone (O3) and particulate matter with size less than 10 (PM10). The concentration levels of the air pollutants were said to be affected by the monsoon changes. Therefore, this study is conducted to examine the existence of temporal variations of each air pollutant then identify the differences of each air pollutants concentration in temporal variations. This study uses secondary data where data that has been retrieved from the Department of Environment (DOE) where it is data of air pollution specifically for Kota Bharu, kelantan records. Hierarchical agglomerative cluster analysis was conducted to group monthly air quality. As a conclusion, the study can conclude that the five air pollutants grouped into several different monthly clusters mostly representing the two main monsoon seasons. Mostly air pollutant varied accordingly towards the monsoon season. During the southwestern monsoon, air pollutant concentration tends to higher compare to the northeastern monsoon with mostly due to meteorological factors.

This paper presents an intelligent computational method using the PSO (particle swarm optimisation) algorithm to determine the optimum tilt angle of solar panels in PV systems. The objective of the paper is to assess the performance of this method against conventional methods of determining the optimum tilt angle. The method presented here can be used to determine the optimum tilt angle at any location around the world. In this paper, it was applied to Brunei Darussalam, and succeeded in computing monthly optimum tilt angles, ranging from 34.7ᵒ in December to -26.7ᵒ in September. Results showed that changing the tilt angle every month, as determined by the PSO algorithm, increased annual yield by: (i) 5.94%, compared to keeping it fixed at 0ᵒ, (ii) 8.65%, compared to Lunde’s method and (iii) 17.31%, compared to Duffie and Beckman’s method. Benchmark test functions were used to compare and evaluate the performance of the PSO algorithm with the artificial bee colony (ABC) algorithm, another metaheuristic algorithm. The tests revealed that the PSO algorithm outperformed the ABC algorithm, exhibiting lower root mean square error and standard deviation, better convergence to the global minimum, more accurate location of the global minimum, and faster execution times.

The amount of deaf and mute individuals on the earth is rising at an alarmingrate. Bangladesh has about 2.6 million people who are unable to interact with the community using language. Hearing-impaired citizens in Bangladesh use Bangladeshi sign language (BSL) as a means of communication. In this article,we propose a new method for Bengali sign language recognition based on deep convolutional neural networks. Our framework employs convolutional neural networks (CNN) to learn from the images in our dataset and interpret hand signs from input images. Checking their collections of ten indications (we usedten sets of images with 31 distinct signs) for a total of 310 images. The proposed system takes snap shots from a video by using a webcam with applying a computer vision-based approach. After that, it compares those photos to a previously trained dataset generated with CNN and displays the Bengali numbers (০-৯). After estimating the model on our dataset, weobtained an overall accuracy of 99.8%. We want to streng then things as far aswe can to make silent contact with the majority of society as simple asprobable.

10.11591/ijeecs.v23.i1.pp396-404
Morozov Viktor , Kolomiiets Anna , Mezentseva Olga
An integrated approach to the creation and development of innovative startup projects in the field of information technology is considered. To conduct research, the authors proposed a model of information cycles of startup projects based on the creation of an information model of such projects. At the same time there are dynamic processes of changes in the parameters of the model, which are turbulent in nature and require the use of tools and methods of artificial intelligence for research. The key areas of knowledge of such influence are defined. The mathematical model of processes of management of development of IT startups on the basis of creation and development of a difficult IT product, taking into account influences of environments of the project is constructed, the basic characteristics are allocated and parameters are defined. To do this, the construction of predictive models is proposed to be carried out by modified Demarc trends, the method of self-organization and the neural network. The modeling of the main objective functions of the mathematical model of these processes is performed. The analysis of the received results is carried out and the conclusions are made.
