Maha Khalil Ibrahim , Nadia Mahmood Hussien , Saad Najim Alsaad
Ammonium nitrate (AN, NH4NO3) is one of the materials used in chemical industry and in agriculture. AN is not considered a fire risk but it is a strong oxidizing agent that can lead to fire and explosion, so, the ammonium nitrate must be stored under specific environmental conditions to avoid the occurrence of dangerous situations. In this paper, a smart monitoring system for Ammonium nitrate storage is developed. The system consists of three-parts: monitoring chemicals system part (MCS), warehouse monitoring part (WMP), and emergency part (EP). MCS includes several hardware components: Arduino microcontroller, Ds18b20 sensor, MQ sensors, system for mobile communication (GSM), global position system (GPS), buzzer, and LCD. Two types of alarms are designed, the first one is for the WMP that to receive the alarm when temperature is exceeds than a specific threshold in chemical warehouse. The second one is for EP. It represents the receiver part to receive the alarm with the location of the place that indicates to certain gases leakage that could cause a fire or explosion. Also, a buzzer is listening and display the sensor state on LCD. The system follows the object-oriented software engineering (OOSE) approach using unified modeling language (UML).

Thanh-Hai Nguyen , Ba-Viet Ngo
Skin diseases have a serious impact on human life and health. This article aims to represent the classification accuracy of skin diseases for supporting the physicians’ correct decision on patients for early treatment. In particular, 100 images in each type of five skin diseases from ISIC database are used for balanced datasets related to the classification accuracy. In addition, this paper focuses on processing images for extracting six optimal types of eleven features of skin disease image for higher classification performance and also this takes less time for training. Therefore, skin disease images are filtered and segmented for separating region of interests (ROIs) before extracting optimal features. First, the skin disease images are processed by normalizing sizes, removing noises, segmenting to separate region of interests (ROIs) showing skin disease signs. Next, a gray-level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM) method is applied for texture analysis to extract eleven features. With the optimal six features chosen, the high classification accuracy of skin diseases is about 92% evaluated using a matrix confusion. The result showed to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. Furthermore, this method can be developed for other medical datasets for supporting in disease diagnosis.

10.11591/ijeecs.v23.i1.pp445-452
Dayal Kumar Behera , Madhabananda Das , Subhra Swetanisha , Prabira Kumar Sethy
One of the most commonly used techniques in the recommendation framework is collaborative filtering (CF). It performs better with sufficient records of user rating but is not good in sparse data. Content-based filtering works well in the sparse dataset as it finds the similarity between movies by using attributes of the movies. RBM is an energy-based model serving as a backbone of deep learning and performs well in rating prediction. However, the rating prediction is not preferable by a single model. The hybrid model achieves better results by integrating the results of more than one model. This paper analyses the weighted hybrid CF system by integrating content K-nearest neighbors (KNN) with restricted Boltzmann machine (RBM). Movies are recommended to the active user in the proposed system by integrating the effects of both content-based and collaborative filtering. Model efficacy was tested with MovieLens benchmark datasets.
