Zhang Chang-sheng , Ruan Jing , Huang Hai-long , Li Long-chang , Yang Bing-ru
Concept lattice is an effective tool for data analysis and rule extraction, a bottleneck factor on impacting the applications of concept lattice is how to generate lattice efficiently. In this paper, an algorithm LCLG on generating lattice in batch processing based on layered concept lattice is developed, this algorithm is based on layered concept lattice, the lattice is generated downward layer by layer through concept nodes and provisional nodes in current layer; the concept nodes are found parent-child relationships upward layer by layer, then the Hasse diagram of inter-layer connection is generated; in the generated process of the lattice nodes in each layer, we do the pruning operations dynamically according to relevant properties, and delete some unnecessary nodes, such that the generating speed is improved greatly; the experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm has good performance. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i8.3063

Power Optimization between sensing and signaling for Distributed Detection

https://ijeecs.iaescore.com/index.php/IJEECS/article/view/2490
Xiangyang LIU , Peisheng ZHU , Donghong XIE
The power of each sensor node in wireless sensor networks for signal detection applications is scarce and limited. Thus, the allocation of power resource of a node should make the detection performance of the whole network maximum, which is complex due to the detection probability of the whole system cannot be expressed explicitly. The ant colony optimization algorithm is good at solving multidimensional optimization problem. Consequently, continuous ant colony system (CACS) and ACOR proposed in literature are adopted to optimize the allocation of node’s power between sensing and communications. Simulation show that they can lead to a good power allocation. Meanwhile, the identical power allocation scheme (IPAS) that all sensor nodes have identical power assignment can achieve nearly the same detection performance as that achieved by the best scheme searched by CACS and ACOR. As a result, particularly for a large number of identical sensors, IPAS can be employed to achieve nearly the best detection performance. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i8.3032

Harmonic Characteristic Analysis of Magnetically Saturation Controlled Reactor

https://ijeecs.iaescore.com/index.php/IJEECS/article/view/2475
Tian Ming Xing , Yuan Dong Sheng , Yan Hong
As the magnetically saturation controlled reactor’s (MSCR) operation is based on the saturation characteristic of the core, so its harmonic characteristic should be valued. According to the structural characteristic and working principle, the mathematical model of MSCR is derived. And the harmonic components of physical quantities such as current, voltage and magnetic field parameters are analyzed by function characteristic analysis. Then, it concludes that MSCR’s working current is an odd harmonic function, containing fundamental and odd harmonic components; controlling current and voltage are even harmonic functions, containing DC and even harmonic components; the core flux linkage, flux, magnetic field intensity and magnetic field density are just containing DC and fundamental components. At last, a simulation model for MSCR is fabricated with MATLAB/Simulink, the simulation results show that the paper’s analysis and conclusions are accurate. So, this paper can provide a reference to further analysis and proposition of new harmonic suppression methods of MSCR. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i8.2276

https://ijeecs.iaescore.com/index.php/IJEECS/article/view/2541
Qingzhu Qi , Zhixiao Jiang
This paper takes Tianjin for example and analyzes the development tend of scientific and technological progress in Tianjin. From five aspects as ‘environment of scientific and technological progress’, ‘input of scientific and technological activities’, ‘output of scientific and technological activities’, ‘high-tech industrialization’, ‘science and technology for economic and social development’, the paper analysis the correlation between GDP and scientific and technological progress. Research finding shows that these five indicators are all positive correlated with the GDP, and especially ‘environment of scientific and technological progress’, ‘input of scientific and technological activities’, and ‘science and technology for economic and social development’, which are significantly positive correlation of GDP. The extent to which these five indicators impact the GDP from strong to weak is ‘input of scientific and technological activities’, ‘science and technology for economic and social development’, ‘environment of scientific and technological progress’, ‘high-tech industrialization’, and ‘output of scientific and technological activities’. The ‘input of scientific and technological activities’ index (2011) in Tianjin scores only 70 which ranks fourth among the five indexes, however its impact on GDP is most significant. So it would be best for Tianjin to increase the human and financial input in ‘scientific and technological activities’ to promote the growth of GDP in future. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i8.3129

Neural Network Controllers in DTC of Synchronous Motor Drives

https://ijpeds.iaescore.com/index.php/IJPEDS/article/view/4957
Sudhakar Ambarapu , M. Vijaya Kumar
In recent times, permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM) have gained numerous industrial applications, because of simple structure, high efficiency and ease of maintenance. But these motors have a nonlinear mathematical model. To resolve this problem several studies have suggested the application of vector control (VC) and direct torque control (DTC) with soft-computing (SC) techniques. This paper presents neuro direct torque control (NDTC) of PMSM. Hence this paper aims to present a technique to control speed and torque with reduced ripple compared to previous techniques. The outputs of Artificial Neural Network(ANN) controller mechanism is compared with that of classical DTC and the results demonstrate the influence of ANN is improved compared to classical DTC topology. The system is also verified and proved to be operated stably with reduced torque ripple, very low speed, sudden speed reversals, at low torque and at high torque. The proposed method validity and effectiveness has been verified by computer simulations using Matlab/Simulink®. These results are compared with the ones obtained with a classical DTC using PI speed controller.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/ijpeds.v3i3.4023

https://ijeecs.iaescore.com/index.php/IJEECS/article/view/2470
Yaolian Song , Guangzeng Feng , Xuanhui Xi
In this paper, we investigate the energy efficiency maximization problem of cognitive radio systems. We propose to study energy efficiency of cognitive relay transmission scheme based on cooperative spectrum sensing, since empirical studies have shown that optimal sensing time and transmit power are key factors for energy efficiency maximization. We design a method that simultaneously considers the parameters of spectrum sensing time and transmit power. Finally, we conduct deep experiments which show that our proposed approach can significantly improve the throughput and energy efficiency than the non-cooperative spectrum sensing method. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i8.2446

https://ijece.iaescore.com/index.php/IJECE/article/view/5454
Mohamed Louzazni , El Hassan Aroudam , Hanane Yatimi
Photovoltaic cell generation is the technique which uses photovoltaic cell to convert solar energy into electrical energy. Now  a  days  ,the photovoltaic  generation  is  developing  increasingly  fast  as  a  renewable  energy  source. The functioning of a photovoltaic cell as the power generator is equivalent to an electric circuit containing a current generator, diode, series resistance and shunt resistance. This paper presents a modeling and simulation of a photovoltaic system constitutes of a generator (PVG), DC-DC converter (boost chopper) to transfer the maximum power to a base transmitter station. The temperature and irradiance effects on the PVG will be studied, particularly on the variables such as the short circuit current Icc, the open circuit voltage Voc, the performance η and the fill factor FF. Depending on the load (BTS, I=60A, V=48V) profile and climatic factors influencing, we can find a highly gap between the maximum power supplied by the PVG and that actually transferred to the BTS. A maximum power point tracker (MPPT) based on a boost converter commanded by a Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) is used for extracting the maximum power from the PVG. Thus, a real time tracking of the optimal point of functioning (MPP: Maximum Power Point) is necessary to optimize the efficiency on the system. The modeling and simulation of the system (PVG, boost converter, PWM and MPPT algorithm Perturbation and Observation P&O) is then made with Matlab/Simulink software.DOI:http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/ijece.v3i5.3639

Chemical Source Localization using Mobile Robots in Indoor Arena

https://ijeecs.iaescore.com/index.php/IJEECS/article/view/2416
Yuli Zhang , Xiaoping Ma , Yanzi Miao
This paper presents a virtual-physics force based control strategy for swarm robotic chemical source localization. The control force includes: structure formation force, goal force, and obstacle avoidant force. For swarm formation, the robots maintain the regular polygon formation and a virtual robot is located at the center of the polygon. The motion of the virtual robot depends on the goal force which obtained from the sensor observations of the robots. Once the virtual robot moved to a new place, the robots would also move as a single body with the structure formation force and obstacle avoidant force. In this paper, we adopted chemotaxis as plume tracing algorithms. Simulation experiments in indoor arena without obstacle and with obstacles using different robot number are carried out respectively, and the results show that the proposed strategy can effectively navigate the mobile robotics swarms to the chemical source once selecting proper number of robots. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i7.2819

The Optimization Design of Six-bar Linkage Mechanism

https://ijeecs.iaescore.com/index.php/IJEECS/article/view/2459
Xiaoli Wang
At present, multi-bar linkage mechanism is one of the most important directions of mechanical presses’ development. Utilizing the typical multi-linkage drawing mechanism of the plunger slide and compounding its parameters scientifically are a fairly effective way to realize the drawing technology demand. This paper established kinematics mode of the six-bar drawing mechanism by bar-group method, and produced simulated system by Visual Basic, which simulated the actual motion of the mechanism. With the objective function-velocity fluctuation in drawing and drawing depth, using chaos genetic algorithm method, carried out optimization design of the mechanism, and acquired several groups’ data. The optimization results showed that their performance in kinematics was improved greatly and had exceeded the original mechanism. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i7.2863

The current automotive metallic belt continuously variable transmission (CVT) mostly use hydraulic system to push the cone disc and achieve the speed ratio control. A new Electrical Mechanical Continuously Variable Transmission without hydraulic control (Electrical Mechanical CVT, EMCVT) studied in this paper, uses the rolling screw mechanism to press cone disc, achieves speed regulation through the electronic control mechanism, and abandons the energy-intensive hydraulic system. In this paper, based on the analysis of mechanical configuration, the EMCVT's transmission system and its speed regulation process, speed ratio control characteristic and the clamping force control feature are studied and modeled. Besides, the Control strategy of the transmission system driven by motor is built, so as to provide an important theoretical basis for the further building of EMVCT's control system and the selection and implementation of Control strategy. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i7.2935

DWT Domain Information Hiding Approach Using Detail Sub-band Feature Adjustment

https://ijeecs.iaescore.com/index.php/IJEECS/article/view/2467
Qiudong Sun , Ping Guan , Yongping Qiu , Wenying Yan
In recent years, many algorithms based on HVS and DWT had been proposed for watermarking. But most of them aimed at the binary iconic watermark. So they are unsuitable for embedding other format watermarks such as the text file, the gray image or even the color image. This paper proposed a multi-format data source file supporting algorithm for watermarking and information hiding. Firstly, the algorithm transformed a source file into a binary watermark sequence and put redundant encoding and random scrambling on it. Then, the algorithm selected two neighboring blocks each time from the Hilbert scanning sequence of the host image blocks, and transformed them by DWT. Lastly, according to the different codes of each two sequential watermark bits, the algorithm chose one of two thresholds of just noticeable difference (JND) to modify the average value features of two corresponding detail sub-bands to insert the watermark into the host image. Extracting hidden information only to need the embedded image without the original host images and the data source file, implemented the blind extraction to improve the security of secret information. The experimental results show that the embedded watermark is invisible, and the algorithm is robust to common image processing operations. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i7.2934
