Peng Hui Yuen , Hsien Shiung Hwang , Mutharasu Devarajan
Red (SrCa)AlSiN3:Eu2+ nitride phosphor with different particle sizes were characterized based on physical and luminescent properties, then packaged into Chip-On-Board (COB) Warm White Light Emitting Diode (LED)  modules to investigate the influence of particle size on packaging parameters and optical  output of the COB LED devices. The phosphor particle sizes investigated were 10µm, 12µm and 14µm, and experimental data indicates that the emission spectrum for the red phosphor with bigger particle size is slightly red-shifted compare with the red phosphor with smaller particle size. Besides that, COB LED modules packaged with smaller red phosphor particle required slightly lesser amounts of phosphor to achieve same value of Correlated Color Temperature (CCT) range from 3500K to 3600K, while enhancing the optical output power. The average lumen output and the average efficacy of COB LED devices packaged with 10µm phosphor had an increment of 5.07% and 9.55% respectively while 12µm phosphor had an increment of 5.14% and 9.79% respectively compared to the 14µm phosphor sample.

Hongqi Jiang , Shuncai Li , Xianbiao Mao
As to the complicated characteristics of overhead working truck under effects of random dynamic wind, the traditional method is difficult to reflect its dynamic response in real time, in the study; it proposes the random wind induced vibration response analysis method based on the finite element method and pseudo-excitation method. An it regards the vibration of the fluctuating wind load as coherent random vibration under stationary random excitation, and it uses Davenport wind velocity spectrum which does not change with height, the correlation of the wind excitation are considered. It takes the folding type arm overhead working truck as example, the random wind vibration analysis are performed, and it gets the acceleration response spectrum and root mean square the of aerial work platform. The analysis results show that the low-order frequency will cause great vibration of the work platform, and the vertical one third of the root-mean-square of acceleration is below international standards, it has no uncomforted effect on operation workers.

10.11591/ijeecs.v12.i7.pp5476-5483
Sufang Li , Mingyan Jiang , Dongfeng Yuan
An improved complex-valued back propagation neural network (ICVBPNN) algorithm is proposed in this paper. In allusion to the defect of gradient descent of traditional complex-valued back propagation network (CVBPNN) algorithm, additive momentum has been introduced. It is used for time-varying channel tracking and prediction in wireless communication system and better application results are acquired. Firstly, with the use of the learning ability of the neural network, the tracking training is started based on the obtained channel state information (CSI), thus the nonlinear channel model is constructed. Secondly, the unknown channel state information is predicted using the ICVBPNN trained model. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method has less estimated error, and can track the channel more accurately than the traditional CVBPNN and the Kalman Filter algorithm.

Short-Term Prediction of Wind Power Based on an Improved PSO Neural Network

10.11591/ijeecs.v12.i7.pp4973-4980
Hong Zhang , Guo Zhao , Lixing Chen , Bailiang Liu
Connecting wind power to the power grid has recently become more common. To better manage and use wind power, its strength must be predicted precisely, which is of great safety and economic significance. In this paper, the short-term power prediction of wind power is based on self-adaptive niche particle swarm optimization (NPSO) in a neural net. Improved PSO adopts the rules of classification and elimination of a niche using a self-adaptive nonlinear mutation operator. Compared with the traditional method of maximum gradient, NPSO can skip a local optimal solution and approach the global optimal solution more easily in practice. Compared with the basic PSO, the number of iterations is reduced when the global optimal solution is obtained. The method proposed in this paper is experimentally shown to be capable of efficient prediction and useful for short-term power prediction.

dsPIC33 Based Control for PV-Grid System with a Buck-Boost MPPT

10.11591/ijeecs.v12.i7.pp5137-5143
Slamet Riyadi
The use of solar energy is very important due to the fossil based energy crisis. Rapid progress in PV technologies has contributed to its applications. There are many PV based power plants built around the world.  Maximum Power Point Trackers (MPPT) take significant role in operating PV modules to produce their maximum power. They are implemented by using choppers to match the load resistance and the PV resistance. Recently, integration between PV modules and grids is more popular due to their advantages. The PV-Grid system can be single stages, two stages or any other types and all of them use PWM (pulse width modulation)  converters as their cores. In this paper, a PV-Grid System using buck-boost chopper as MPPT is analyzed. Power generated by PV modules is transferred to the grid by using an inverter that operated as a controlled current source so the complexity can be reduced. Finally, the dsPIC33 based control scheme for such a PV-Grid System was made as a laboratory scaled-prototype to verify the analysis and simulations.

Stochastic Synchronization of Neutral-Type Chaotic Markovian Neural Networks with Impulsive Effects

10.11591/ijeecs.v12.i7.pp5430-5437
Cheng-De Zheng , Xixi Lv
This paper studies the globally stochastic synchronization problem for a class of neutral-type chaotic neural networks with Markovian jumping parameters under impulsive perturbations. By virtue of drive-response concept and time-delay feedback control techniques, by using the Lyapunov functional method, Jensen integral inequality, a novel reciprocal convex lemma and the free-weight matrix method, a novel sufficient condition is derived to ensure the asymptotic synchronization of two identical Markovian jumping chaotic delayed neural networks with impulsive perturbation. The proposed results, which do not require the differentiability and monotonicity of the activation functions, can be easily checked via Matlab software. Finally, a numerical example with their simulations is provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the presented synchronization scheme.

Rice monitoring is a substantial to Asian countries, including Indonesia, since most inhabitants consume rice on a daily basis. As field survey requires substantial time and budget, one relies on remotely sensed data, especially taken through spaceborne platform. This research discusses multispectral and linearly polarized Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) from Advanced Land Observing Satellite and their applications to observe various rice growth information. It appears that both sensors provided useful rice growth data leading to the possibility on improving rice field information extraction. Classification scheme by means of Random Forest suggested that both data were fairly acceptable for timely monitoring.

Multi-user Detection Based on Gaussian Sum Particle Filter in Impulsive Noise

https://ijeecs.iaescore.com/index.php/IJEECS/article/view/3640
Li Zhihui , xian Jin-Long
In order to improve the performance of multi-user detector, this paper analyses a new algorithm, Gaussian sum particle filter (GSPF). This algorithm approximates the filtering and predictive distributions by weighted Gaussian mixtures and is basically banks of Gaussian particle filters (GPF). Then, GSPF is used in dynamic state space (DSS) models with non-Gaussian noise. The non-Gaussian noise is approximated by Laplace noise and Alpha noise. As a result, GSPF can effectively reduce the bit error rate of the system. The simulation results show that the GSPF has the versatility and super performance in MUD. It proves that the improved algorithm has important value for the research of MUD system. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i7.5529
