Attenuation Model of Wireless Sensor Network for Large-Scale Farmland Environment

https://ijeecs.iaescore.com/index.php/IJEECS/article/view/2003
Wu Huarui , Zhao Chunjiang , Zhu Li
The transmission characteristics of wireless sensor network nodes for large-scale farmland are influenced by factors such as farmland terrain environment, planting density and height. The vegetation canopy can absorb, scatter, and block RF signals, leading to large attenuation of signal strength and significant differences in link quality on the receiving end, which in turn affects the monitoring quality. The dynamic relationships between radio signal transmission, plant height, group range, and crop growth stages are identified through the analysis of summer corn perceptual information path loss at different growth stages. The gradual RSSI attenuation model of wireless sensor network for large-scale farmland environment is established. Research shows that during the corn tassel and seed-filling periods, the RSSI attenuation is most serious and the perception range reaches the minimum value when antenna height falls in the range of 0.5 meter to 1.7 meters. Through the model we can predict the intensity and perception range of the received wireless signals of summer corn on various perception levels at different growth stages. This model serves as the theoretical basis for the deployment of wireless sensor network nodes for large-scale farmland, aiming to achieve maximum monitoring range at minimum equipment cost. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i2.1981

Li Zhenkun , Ji Hui , Fu Yang
As a result of the adoption of new photovoltaic technology, electronic transformers have great advantages compared with traditional electromagnetic type, such as anti-saturated, high linearity, compact and lightweight etc. The working principle of sensing head of electronic current/voltage transformers is introduced in the paper. The causes of phase error in electronic transformer are analyzed. And a set of phase compensation methods based on the signal transfer principle of electronic transformer is presented. The phase-difference caused by Rogowski coil and time-delay in signal transferring from high voltage side to merging unit are analyzed, and the higher sampling rate and the method of linear interpolation is used to solve the problem. In the simulation test the phase error compensation effect is very good, and the simulation result shows that the integrated error after compensation is able to meet the requirements of the measurement and protection, and demonstrates the validity of the method. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i2.1983

https://ijeecs.iaescore.com/index.php/IJEECS/article/view/2021
Wang Guang Yan , Geng Yan Xiang , Zhao Xiao Qun
In this paper, we propose a single-channel speech enhancement method in terms of subspace techniques to reduce the noises from speech signals in various noises environment. This subspace approach based on Karhunen-Loève transform and implemented via Principal component analysis. The optimal subspace selection is provided by a minimum description length criterion. An offset factor generated from the white noise was used to modify the variance to adapt to the specified colored noise. Several objective speech quality measures have been introduced to give an overall evaluation of the proposed method. A large amount of data and figures, as well as the audio quality evaluation results, testify that the algorithm provides high performance for the input signal-to-noise ratio range from -5dB to 10dB. It is showed that the proposed approach have excellent characteristics for colored noises in strong background noise environment with lower signal-to-noise ratio. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i2.1999

Weijian Ren , Chaohai Kang , Yingying Li , Liying Gong
To solve the shortage in genetic algorithms, such as slow convergence speed, poor local searching capability and easy prematurity, firstly, the immune memory recognition function was introduced, to speed up the searching speed and improve the overall searching capabilities of genetic algorithm. Secondly, the Hénon chaotic map was introduced into the generation of the initial population, made the generated initial population uniformly distributed in the solution space, to reduce data redundancy, increase the diversity of antibody population and the search range of initial population manipulation , prevent the defect of falling into local optimum. Finally, Logistic map was introduced into manipulation of crossover and mutation, meanwhile the map was used to produce the chaotic disturbance strategy on the memory and populations antibodies , to improve the quality of optimal solution and the searching speed of the algorithm, increase efficient of searching. It was proved that the above hybrid algorithm is convergence by mathematics method. The results of function optimization show that the above hybrid algorithm is valid and has better performance than other algorithms. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i2.2063

Aiming at the effect of environment to MTF measurement, the MTF measurent at different contrasts is presented. In order to get different contrasts, two integrating spheres are used to illuminate the face and back of the test target uniformly. The target luminance and background luminance of the test target are regulated by luminance control parts conveniently. The MTF measurement system is designed and developed. Many experimental results of show that the luminance differences between the values by the system and those by L88 standard level luminance meter are within ±0.3 cd/m2so that the MTF measurement precision can be ensured. MTFs of Sony camera and Cannon camera at different contrasts are measured. The measurement values imply that MTFs at different contrasts can evaluate the imaging quality fully and objectively. This study provides an effective method to assess the imaging quality of visible imaging systems. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i2.1996

In this paper, an optimization method based on Genetic Algorithm is proposed to solve the integrated-loading-and-unloading-missile vehicle assignment problem. On the basis of analyzing the characters of high cost, low usage and real time loading with missile and the vehicle, the mathematical model was built with the bi-objective of cost and loading time. And the resolving method based on Genetic Algorithm was specially designed to get the optimum allocation scheme. Considering particularity of the problem, variable-list encoding method and valid initial population generation method, special one chromosome cross genetic operator; special one chromosome greedy-and-balanced migration operator and mutation operator are proposed. Simulation results show that the solutions by this algorithm can complete all loading tasks, and also can get an optimum balance between cost and loading time of missiles, which can meet the character of accurate support during wartime. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i2.1985

This paper addresses the nonlinear identification of liquid saturated steam heat exchanger (LSSHE) using artificial neural network model. Heat exchanger is a highly nonlinear and non-minimum phase process and often its working conditions are variable. Experimental data obtained from fluid outlet temperature measurement in laboratory environment is used as the output variable and the rate of change of fluid flow into the system as input too. The results of identification using neural network and conventional nonlinear models are compared together. The simulation results show that neural network model is more accurate and faster in comparison with conventional nonlinear models for a time series data because of the independence of the model assignment.DOI:http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/ijece.v3i1.1954
